Salsa, Bachata, more 2/27/2010

I must say I love to dance all kinds of latin styles. Im not good at it but getting better. Gloria's is the place to be on a Sat. night in Addison. The seating is very limited so be sure to wear comfortable shoes ladies. A lot of fun to be there. Pros: Dancing Cons: seating more

Very poor service, leaves plenty of room for improvement 1/8/2009

We had dinner here about a month ago & I was deeply disappointed. It was our first time & our friends wanted to try the place. The food was about average & I guess, it can be considered "good" for the non-connoisseur. It is quite flavorless. We were unaware the place turns into a dance club after 10PM & we arrived around 8:45PM for dinner. We were told there was going to be a little wait to be seated, so we got some drinks at the bar (too pricey). After we had waited for about 45 minutes, we were never notified of our table & our buzzer seemed to be defect. We were seated after we inquired again on the wait time; the "hostess" (a guy) said in a raspy voice he was going to seat us, but they would need our table at 10 for the dance floor??? I was confused about the plan: were we to move to another table in the middle of our dinner or were we to eat very quickly & leave within 30 minutes so they could remove our table? The server was plain, the food tasteless, and the atmosphere...well, below standard. We felt rushed throughout our dinner. We left soon, needless to say. Too bad we spent a couple hundred $$ on dinner for 4 & I may have stayed for the Latin music which I love, but they did not do anything to indicate they desired our patronage...Too bad...the place needs a major customer service make-over. I am left to assume that management is not interested in attracting attorneys from top law firms in Dallas. Maybe they would have been nicer if I had pulled my bar license out... Pros: cannot think of any Cons: flavorless food, poor service, & any many other more

One of the best 10/24/2008

Let me just say that Gloria's food is good. I am not going to lie to you and say is the best, but for sure better than a lot out there. The wait staff is very helpful and professional. The reason I come here though is the music. Specially Fridays and Saturdays after 10 pm the restaurant gets rid of most of their tables inside and the establishment becomes one of the best salsa clubs (if not the best) in Dallas. They have a live band and the atmosphere is great. If you are a Latin music lover, this is the place to be . The crows is very diverse. There is a charge to get in after 10 pm ( only $10). more

Impeccable wait staff and bartenders! 3/28/2008

Absolutely top-notch wait staff and bartenders. This truly makes the difference. They always make sure you are comfortable and taken care of without being annoying like 90% of waiters at restaurants (all trying to make you buy stuff so they get a bigger tip...). The margaritas are strong as hell, but i'm not a big fan of the salsa...food is average tex-mex fare. Pros: Great margaritas and attentive wait staff. Cons: Mediocre food and salsa. more

Go on a Friday night 8/10/2006

Hot girls, hot food, and pretty sweet drinks. I think Glorias is probably my favorite mex-restaraunt. Pros: Great food, great drinks Cons: Patron gets pricey! more

Fun Happy Hour 8/7/2006

Gloria's in Addison is loud and crowded during happy hour (hey the drinks are a great deal and they're strong, where else can you get $2.50 mojitos?). Although I enjoyed my churrasco tipico (skirt steak with chimichurri sauce), it wasn't anything spectacular. The rice was on the dry side and the pupusa a tad bland. On the other hand, the tamales were excellent (wrapped in banana leaf versus corn husk) and I enjoyed the salsa. Would probably go back just for the tamales. Service was impeccable, our water glasses and chip bowl never got half full before refilled. Pros: Service, tamales, happy hour drink specials Cons: Can be really loud more

Latin...really? 2/13/2006

I don't want to say the food was horrible, because it wasn't... it just wasn't really..."latin". I don't know if the chef's are just trying to cook for the "gringo" palate, but then they should classify the restaurant. Also, in their defense, I didn't try everything on the menu. But I did order the Bistec Encebollado, which I grew up on, and my mom never threw a can of tomato sauce on that. Also, Uncle Ben's rice? That really turned me off. On the other hand, the ambience of the restaurant is great and the wait staff very attentive. Pros: ambience, inexpensive, chips n salsa Cons: food more

The menu features dishes from Mexico and El Salvador, combined with a Texas twist.
