Glad Tidings Church

On my first visit to Glad Tidings, I was a bit nervous because of the size ""I thought"" the church was. I am very glad I went regardless of MY feeling, because as soon as I walked in I felt at home and had a very warm welcome. This church is a place where there is something for everybody to get involved in and I would highly recommend this church to anybody in the SF area who enjoys a diverse setting in all aspects and who wants to feel the presence of the Lord. more

Glad Tidings Church is a wonderful place, that is like a family to visitors and those who have attended for years. I have gone to Glad Tidings for 15 years and have seen the church grow so much. By numbers, creativity, events, structure, and direction it is headed on. Having a church of all types of people of colors and backgrounds. And that is a goal that is already being met. more

GT is not a place where you sit back and watch the leadership team work. It is a place where you can get involved. There is the children's department, Grace Cafe, the hospitality team, the Choir, the Choir and the the Choir. If your looking a friendly, fun, active place to meet new people and learn more about a real God- THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! GT has great child care, some fun night activities that meet on Friday nights for most age groups! I stayed for the music there choir is amazing! 150 people singing at once awesome! more

The people at Glad Tiding Church are very friendly, caring, helpful and make you feel at home. My original search for a meaningful place of worship ended the moment I walked into Glad Tidings Church 11 ++ years ago... since then I have a church, a pastor and a congregation that is relevant in San Francisco and most important true to the unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ...since then the church has grown as a body .... we are off to Africa to serve the Malawi Community ...orphans, adults, pastors and teachers .... very Glad Tidings is an exciting place to be! more

As an intern here at GT. My life has changed dramatically. I have been attending Glad Tidings for almost 7 years. I came in as a college student attending a local art school and am here as a woman going after God in whole new ways, as well as pursuing my credentials to be a licensed minister. I knew that there had to be more to life than fashion design and artist communities. My invitation to stay at GT started with one of the pastors remembering my name. I was surprised that the staff thought I was someone to be remembered. I came from a Christian background going up in the church-but pastors were unattainable,distant, kind of like the Wizard of Oz. GT is the opposite of that. Everyone on staff in genuine, approachable and its clear they are responding to the call on their lives. They love San Francisco. I came to know more of this truth when I began to work along side of them. I went from being in a place of waiting for everyone else to tell me who I was, to being open to hearing the voice of the LORD. I have made so may lasting friendships at GT over the past years. I have changed so much as a person. It’s not that I became someone else, but being here has allowed me to flourish into who I have been created to be. It’s been an awesome experience, and it’s just the beginning. more

I started attending Glad Tidings about 5 years ago, and I’ve been an intern for almost a year. I began my journey with a strict desire to hold God and church at arm’s length. If I say that’s changed, it’s the understatement of the century. I have found so much freedom in God and continue to find more as I learn to listen to His voice. I think I’m just like anyone else: I doubt and debate, but I love and cling to Him. At the end of the day, I decide to trust Him, because He is in control. This is what I’m learning at Glad Tidings. I love love love this church. Being across the country from my family, I have found brand new connections here at GT. I have found the kind of friends that support me through everything that life throws at me. I have been able to get connected in so many ways, in the dance ministry, the college/ young adult group, I have even been part of a fashion show for one of our women's events. This place is just different when you walk in. Since I have been attending the last 5 years my life has completely changed. I have found new priorities and a new purpose for my life. more

I have been at GT for the last 3 years and I LOVE IT! I have moved around a lot in my life and have always been looking for the best place to go and fit in. I think I’ve finally found that place in San Francisco, and the anchor has been Glad Tidings. It is a very diverse place that accepts people for who they are! \r The whole premise of church being somewhere you go to get yelled at, and a place where the rules are more important than people has been completely overturned with GT. The church is all about loving Jesus and making His love known – since that is the goal, it allows people to just be themselves. \r I have grown as a person and definitely in my faith-walk here at the church. I started attending Retrofit, now called nVision and I made the best friends I've ever had. Attending this church is unlike any other church I’ve ever been to, they WANT to talk to you and WANT to hang out with you. GT is a great place to make friends and learn about God.\r more

When I moved from New York to San Francisco in 2003, I was searching for a home church. After visiting various churches in the Bay area I discovered Glad Tidings Church near Japantown. I was seeking a church that was multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, intergenerational and modern. Glad Tidings Church exceeded all my expectations. \r \r I truly appreciate the church's focus on being Spiritual rather than Religious. Pastor Forest is a compassionate, caring and giving man of God. He is totally transparent to the congregation. He inspires and encourages so many people. I am grateful that I am a member of this church. The support that I get reminds me of a family that is now extended to San Francisco.\r \r I should like to encourage everyone who is seeking a church to check out Glad Tidings Church. There's not much to say except that Glad Tidings really is my home. I never feel left out. The people are way friendly. God is clearly evident throughout the services. The music is fantastic and the sermons are preached in an understanding and open way. There are no closed doors for this church. They live out what they say. more

I love this church! It is the friendliest place on earth. They are family. Worship is awesome! The pastors are real. God's presence is in this place! Very diverse, just like heaven will be. My children love the children's pastor... he has such a heart for God. Come check GT out... I'll save you a seat :) more

Glad Tidings is a place where lives are changed. If you want diversity, great worship, outstanding sermons, real relationships, a great cafe and a personal touch from Jesus then perhaps GT should NOT be a possibility it should be A MUST. This place is AWESOME! Oh yeah, did I fail to mention that the pastor is a dynamic Man of God whose fruit matches his talk. Don't let me tell it, you should come and make an opinion for yourself. Ah, we've been attending this great place for close to 4 years now on a regular basis.\r \r One of the things that got us hooked were the wonderfully nice people of all different cultures with their welcoming dispositions. It almost feels like the Christmas cheer is present there all year round. (oh, this was a pleasant surprise for me, they noticed when i wasn't there. +++)\r \r Amazingly, we were attending this church even when it was a 40 minute trip from where we lived; it was definitely worth it to drive through the traffic to a place where you feel like you belong..\r \r We started off going to the Sunday services and then we began hanging out on Friday nights with our group ""Retrofit"" which is for the 18-25yo singles. There are a whole bunch of other groups to be a part of even for the kids and the wee tiny ones to keep them happily occupied. Pros: Worship, Service, Friday night functions, Cafe, Handicap accessible more
