I signed up for a Gexa account in October 2007. The fine print indicated that it was a 12 month contract with an early termination fee. When I called in February 2008 to cancel my service, they service rep did not indicate that I was subject to such a fee, and because I had signed up for service 5 months before, I did not re-call the early termination charge. The service rep closing my account should have informed me of the $150 early termination fee. If I had learned of it at the time of account termination, then I would have kept my account with Gexa open, earning the company more revenue. The service reps taking account transfer requests should think of ways they can keep business for the long term, not charge one-time $150 fees.
Pros: Good per kwh prices
Cons: Lack of concern for keeping existing customers
