It was pretty costly compared to other companies and brand windows. Overall, I felt that I got what I paid for. I plan to change out more windows and would definitely look at this company again. Remodled a bathroom to handicap accessable for my elderly in-laws. Their design help made the project better than it would have been with my ideas alone. All sub-contractors were also very professional and knowledgable of problems that arise when working on a hundred+ yr old house. Tanks again guys. Gettum Associates resided our cedar paneled tudor house with Hardie Plank (panels and trim boards)fiber cement. Three doors were replaced. A completely new garage door system was installed. A sun tunnel was installed in an upstairs area of the house. Gettum Associates is very highly thought of in the construction and remodeling industry. They more than lived up to their reputation. Gettum's designer, Dave Watson, worked with us to make the addition fit our budget. He came to our home numerous times to discuss details and reworked the initial drawing to meet our budget. We had a great summer for building - no rain. However, there were consecutive days when no workers were present. Communication about which subcontractor would be coming each day could have been better. The electrician arrived one day before we had picked out light fixtures. More attention could have been paid to small, but important, details such as caulking between the brick wall and frame to completely seal the structure. A couple last minute changes occurred that we thought should have been considered prior to the start of construction (e.g. hardiplank siding cannot be used along the base of the structure if it comes in contact with ground moisture). We are still pleased with our final product and enjoying spending time in our new 3-season room. more

We are very happy with what Gettum has done in our home. Once the job was started, each individual contractor was very professional, and completed their task on schedule. They did their job, cleaned up their mess, and were very polite. I would contact Gettum again in the future should we need to have another project completed. Gettum did some work in our bathroom after we had a leaking toilet. Replaced a portion of the subfloor, put down new flooring, installed a new vanity and replaced the ceiling drywall in the room below where some damage occurred. They were professional throughout, and their workers were fantastic to have in the house. We hardly noticed they were there, and when we talked with them they were always pleasant. The only nitpick with the whole process was that it took them a while to schedule us in once we put the deposit in, but it really didn't detract all that badly from the experience. more

Gettum Associates have done several things for me over the years, like they've closed in a patio and made me a sun porch and they've re-roofed my house plus a lot of smaller things around my house for me. I have always been really satisfied with the work they've done for me. I'm very comfortable with them in and around my house on the jobs they've done for me. They are dependable and friendly. Of course I'll use them again! more

Overall, we were extremely satisfied with a couple of exceptions. Eduardo's and his crew are NOT welcome back EVER. They moved a fence I'd put up to protect a one-of-a-kind flower and trampled the heck out of it. Then, he lied to me about which fence he thought it was. There was also a lack of communication on the screened porch doors. We'd bought latches and wanted those put on to solve the problem but kept getting told that you all would do new doors. When the problem was finally corrected it was close to what I'd asked for but not exactly. I'd been very clear that I wanted two vertical pieces on each side of the door. That would ensure that even if a racoon scratched the screen open, a cat could not get out. Only one was put up on each side. Project took longer than anticipated due to incorrect measurement of counter top. Had to make a new cultured marble top. Disappointed about base cabinets because we did not get the full width as specified on blue print. Spacers had to be used at each end of the cabinet. The carpenter was neat, polite and very accommodating. more

Electrical work excellent; drywall work excellent; painting excellent; plumbing work just fair. Fortunately, my plumber came to fix my lift system in the basement so I asked him to fix the plumbling under the new vanity. I know Mike tried, but he really did not get to the source of the leak, but my plumber guy did so it is now fixed right. We are very grateful that the stove is now the right height, but disappointed that the stove top got busted in the process. Thank you for agreeing to get a new one. Hope this helps. I'm very happy with the quality of the work Gettum Associates provides. This most recent time, they were fine. I've used them before, and this was better than the previous time, so I was more pleased with this time than I had been in the past. I really liked the project manager, Ray, and I thought he was very much in to making sure it was done right, which I appreciated. The only thing I would say that would have made i better was if it could have been faster, you know? But I know that's not always possible. Our remodel project was great from start to finish. First, they told us how much we could expect the project to cost. So we waited a year (and saved additional funds). Then they worked with us on the design until it was what we wanted. They provided us with written expectations. There were no surprises from Gettum. During the project, they listened to us and made minor adjustments so that everything would look right to us.
