I have to admit, hiring a karaoke DJ for the first time was very hard because it seemed like an extrenous party item. But trust me, your friends will thank you for it! Mine did. They all had a blast, even my elderly aunt got up to sing some oldies. In betwrrn, we rocked out to a variety of great tracks. Karaoke always sounds like a bad idea to me, but when you have a professional setup, a great host, and every song you can think of everyone will be singing until their throat gets hoarse and then some.\r \r This guy has it all and delivers it to you. I'm not exactly a Karaoke kind of guy, but I can tell you Luke did one terrific job engaging EVERYONE in the room with his DJ talents. He knew when to take charge and get the most stubborn and shy in front of the mic -- and when to slip into the background when things were hopping. With his huge range of songs and super equipment -- not to mention his great personality -- Luke will cater his talents to the Karaoke party you're seeking. This company has the best spirit of all Karaoke'ing places I have ever been. The lead guy is so freaking fun. He makes people that wouldn't normally sing, sing! He incorporates everyone in the crowd, from young to old. I just didn't want the night to end!!!! He has a great range of music as well, which is always a plus. This is the first time I have reviewed on citysearch but I just have to be the first one to review Get On Up Karaoke, its an AWESOME service. \r \r I called Luke at Get On Up Karaoke after a friend of mine at a studio referred me. He said it was a really fair priced Karaoke service that comes to you, with a great host. I wanted to have Karaoke at my girlfriend's birthday party. We were planning it to be a pretty big event (200 + people) and i didnt really want to worry about the Karaoke part of it, i thought it would just be a fun little thing people could do when they weren't eating or listening to the live band downstairs.\r \r Not only did Luke at Get On Up Karaoke have a great system, setup was easy and this guy puts on a hell of a show.! The Karaoke became THE party! I actually felt bad for the band because Luke was getting everyone inovolved in coming up and singing, everyone was smashed into the Karaoke room and downstairs the band had all this empty space. People were having an absolute blast!..and it was hilarious! Luke even got my super shy sister cheryl to sing ""Summer Lovin"" with him. Towards the end of the night, after several drinks, my boss went up and proclaimed he was going to sing Dont Stop Believing, we were dying laughing until the guy absolutely rocked this song hard enough make Stever Perry jealous. anyways, This IS a FANTASTIC service!\r \r Luke will make whatever you need him and his karaoke for fun. I'm not a huge fan of karaoke, but I went to this party where they had a karaoke DJ who was awesome. The guy totally made for a great time. He got everyone involved and by the end of the party everyone was rocking the mic, including myself. My rendition of James Brown's ""I feel good,"" was a definite highlight of the evening. I would definitely use Get On Up Karaoke if I was gonna have a party. The sound was system was great, the song selection was huge and like I said, the host really made the night. Good Times! more
