Old world cuisine with class 6/22/2008

Gerhards is tucked away on east main in Spartanbug by the old Converse Cinemas. It has a Bavarian, old-world atmosphere complete with plenty of woodwork, low lighting and a beautiful fireplace on the patio. \r \r The food is world class---their menu boasts everything from weiner schnitzel to duck to roast pork. Their cold salad plate includes an assortment of cold vegetable salads and their mixed green salad w/thai vinegrette is fantastic! Gerhards also has a well-stocked bar. \r \r The portions are enormous--definately consider splitting an entree. It can get a little pricey, but two people can enjoy a very nice gourmet meal for less than $40 (w/o alcohol.) more

  • Gerhard s Cafe is a fine dining, European- and American-style restaurant that serves individuals of all ages. The restaurant offers seafood fettuccine Alfredo, grilled salmon and crab cakes. It serves bacon-wrapped pork tenderloins and marinated grilled pork chops. In addition, Gerhard s Cafe provides a selection of wines and beers, including Bud Light, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, shiraz, merlot and white zinfandel. The restaurant offers Greek and Caesar salads with a variety of dressings, such as shrimp, chicken, tomatoes and olives. Its range of starters includes baked goat cheese, beer-battered calamari, chicken quesadillas and coconut-crusted lobster tails. Gerhard s Caf also provides pizzas with different toppings..
