Interesting if you're into presidential history 11/30/2005

While the museum focused on the society and times surrounding Ford's presidency, at times the displays grew boring if you just weren't that interested in Ford as a person. On the whole, though, it's worth a walk-through. You might want to check it out for yourself first, though, before taking a field trip to make sure it would hold your students' interest. more

Great Informative Museum 11/26/2005

If you are needing information about presidents, specifically Gerald R. Ford, this is the place to go. it's located in downtown Grand Rapids off Pearl Street. You do have to pay to park but they have their own parking lot. Adjacent to the museum is a gorgeous park right by the Grand River. The museum is not really designed for children under 10. It is a great place for teacher's to take middle school children to for a field trip. In December, they put on a decent Christmas exhibit. more

Lots to Look at 11/14/2005

I have gone to the Gerald Ford Museum a few times and have enjoyed myself every time. There is a lot to look at and if you have any questions most of the staff is very helpful. The one problem is trying to find them. There are times when a staff memeber can't be found. Other then that there is a lot of information and a lot to look at. more

Educational yet interesting 11/11/2005

Ford Museum is located in downtown Grand Rapids right by the river. It is a great educational museum to learn about Gerald Ford, but is also interesting and intertaining. Great interaction for older kids(under 8 may be bored). In December they offer free admission during their Christmas holiday weekend and have free cookies, punch, lighted Christmas trees and Dicken's Carolers. more

Worth the trip 11/3/2005

For a president who was never elected and never served a full term, this is a surprisingly good museum. The exhibits change often and the location--right on the Grand River across from the Amway Grand Hotel and other attractions, make this a great destination or just as part of a weekend in the city of Grand Rapids. That may have once been an oxymoron--but no longer! more

Museum 9/12/2005

This is a great museum if you want to learn a lot about the history of the presidents and other interesting facts. It's a great place for teachers to take their students on field trips. Highly recommend checking it out at least one time. more

Good Place to Learn About a President 9/5/2005

The Gerald Ford Museum is a good place to visit if you are interested in learning about President Ford; but most kid's are not going to be all that enthusiastic with this local museum. The setting is nice with a water feature out front a good place to take pictures, but the interior is out dated and doesn't offer much for the younger generation other than information. more
