Craving and never open 10/10/2009

This is a great place to eat from what I have heard. I have yet to eat there because everytime I attempt, they're either closing or closed. Closing on a Saturday at 6:00pm is not good. Being closed on a Sunday is even crazier. They must be doing well to be able to close at 6:00 on Sat. and all day Sunday. I look forward to eating there one day. It better be good. After all, I am driving from Miami. Pros: Great Food Cons: Hours of operation are not good. more

Absolutely fabulicious!! I can smell the BBQ all the way to my house! Dive feel, but the staff is better than most 5 star restaurants. The Q is the best I've ever eaten. Even the fries are fab! I buy their BBQ sauce by the gallon. Don't miss this hidden treasure ;-) more

The pork sandwich can not be beat from any other BBQ place within 200 miles of here. It is chopped smokey, crunchy, mixed with tender goodness! All combined with the best mustard sauce and if you put the cole slaw on every bite, the sweet coleslaw with the smokey goodness... BRAVO! OH AND IT'S SOOOO CHEAP! more

A hole in the wall type restaurant that you can drive past even when looking for it. Inside however is the best BBQ pork sandwich in South Florida. Service can be slow as it has the laid back atmosphere of old Florida. The best time to go is for lunch and I have heard a lot of good things about their breakfasts as well. more

This place is small but the food is delicious. I call ahead and pick up our Pulled Pork sandwhiches and Fries. They have a real pit, and the smell calls you from blocks away. Just make sure not to pass it. more

Great Barbeque! 5/21/2008

While visiting Ft. Lauderdale this place is a must, an old family favorite that will not dissapoint. The barbeque is good old southern cooking and the prices are reasonable. more

Best Barbeque around!! 1/15/2008

Even though it is in a revised gas station, and looks like a little dive from the street, it is a MUST VISIT when I am in Florida! It is the best barbecue I have ever tasted! I get hungry just thinking about it! The pork sandwich is amazing! Add their slaw & you are in heaven. The staff is friendly and attentive. Prices don't matter - it is worth ANYTHING! (but they are reasonable!) Don't miss Georgia Pig! more

The Pig Rules 10/27/2007

I literally grew up in this place. I miss it so much, but I'll be coming to visit soon! My favorites are the pork sandwichs, brunswick stew, ribs, bisquits & sausage gravy, banana pudding, and the pecan pie. BTW - Cash Only, and the listing says california cuisine, and brunch as an amenity.....which isn't true. Pros: BBQ, old timey more

The barbque is the best ever. Have traveled all over the country and this is great. Same owners for over 40 years. Friendly, fast service. Go at lunch and you'll see everything from bikers to suits. more

Don't Think About It 11/11/2006

Save your time and money. I went to Georgia Pig's today. The people are rude and they went to serve me left-over food. There were two barbeque sandwhiches already fixed, just sitting out (and they thought they were going to sell it to me). The guy who wrapped my sandwhich was picking his teeth prior to touching my sandwhich. Of course I said ""no thanks"" and left ASAP. The place is also dirty. Perhaps not a place for you nor your worst enemy. more

I have been eating at the pig for over 40 years. It was great when I was a kid and it is great now. This is real pit bbq. (no oven bbq here) The meat is perfect and the sauce is the best I have ever eaten. I always have a jar of it in my frig. Wayne and Joann are like visiting family everytime I am able to get down from west palm beach. I judge all other bbq by the pig and nothing has ever come close. (I miss Francis) Pros: great food, great food, great food Cons: none, none, none more

They Cook over a open pit in front of you, the inside looks loke a old fashion family and freinds place the owners and help are great. like stepping back in time to the way it should be. it is the kinda place you go just to meet you friends and have a meal and good time Pros: friendly, great sauce, home town place more

Georgia Pig is a small shack and you pretty much have to get there early to get a seat. But it does not matter I would wait in line any day. They have the best bbq pork in town. and lots of it.. Great price ,small place but great people and great food more

Pure simple Q at it's best. It all about the meat and here it's moist, succulent and delicious. Sauce on the side, as it should be and every pork sandwich chopped by hand as it's ordered. Take a bag of sandwiches home as they're great reheated. more

I love BBQ and The GP is as good as it gets. If you don't like food that taste great or you're picky about the type of bread they use (believe it or not some people really are concerned about the bread, I swear I wouldn't make that up *cough* dr. obi *cough*) than A: you're a fool or B: you're a moron. The pig is so friggin good I hate that I live in Brooklyn and can only get it once or twice a year when I'm down south. Long live the that beautiful pit that is responsible such delectable meats. Some of the best BBQ anywhere 9/25/2002

I've been going to Georgia Pig for years. By far the best BBQ in South Florida. Not much to look at, rest rooms outside, small parking lot, pain to get into and not always open but well worth the pain, try it. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Doesn't Matter more
