New Management OVER STEPS BOUNDARIES 1/20/2009

My little one has been going to this daycare for sometime. First f/t & now only in the Summer. I was very sad to see Maggie & Brandi leave. They were caring & they both showed only love toward the kids. I had a run in with the new ""manager"" this past summer because I was 3 minutes late. I called ahead to let them her know I was caught in the middle of traffic & would be there as quickly as I could. I drive over an hour from work to Vilonia & didn't want my child riding that far incase I'm involved in a wreck I really don't want my child in it. I was charged a $ a minute, which I refused to pay since there were many times that my little one had to stay at home & I still had to pay for the full day. This was due to contracted illnesses due to them not enforcing the fever policy & because kids were allowed to return when they were still sick. I told them to just keep me a running tab & if I'm late deduct that money from the days that my child wasn't there due to sick children being allowed back in. They actually had a case of whooping cough & the kid was there 3 days before he was treated! The new owner of course tried to enforce the $ a minute policy but my question was-I pay you every wk on time & have for 4 years. I am not a complainer, nor have you ever had a problem w/my checks being good, but yet you will haggle me over 3 mins? Sounds to me like you don't need my money too bad. I do not have a problem w/the new director, but I do feel that she steps over her limits sometimes and into the parents area when she questions you about if you take your child to church. I bit my tongue, but felt as though this was totally out of line. Also, her kissing my child on the cheek or asking for a kiss is TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE! I know that she is probably just showing love, but GERMS are GERMS & noone should be kissing my child but her family. \r One toliet didn't function for most of the year & had overflowed that morning. The kids were still kept in that room. Not mine.\r \r Pros: Miss Judy is the best thing this daycare has going for it--point blank! Cons: Sick kids allowed back in; unsanitary conditions witnessed & overbearing new management. more

WORST DAYCARE EVER!!!!!! 7/22/2008

My child went to My First School and Brandi and Maggie were NEVER mean to the children there. Brandi may have weight issues but that has NOTHING to do with the way the daycare was ran or how the children were taken care of. The new owner however has dismissed SEVERAL children with behavioral issues. Maggie NEVER had any real issues were she felt these children needed to be dealt with in this manner. I never saw Brandi do anything to harm ANY of the children there and I spent alot of time there. She was more responsible than the director they have had since she left. And Maggie was a much better person than the new owner, at least she had childcare experience unlike the new one that everyone thinks is a WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN WOMAN. HAHAHA!!! You better think again shes not!!! She's nice to your face but as soon as you turn watch for the KNIFE!!! I know from experience!!! They need to get rid of their young teachers who have NO experience with children other than there own because some of them don't even know how to raise their OWN children. Pros: Therapist from Arch Ford Education comes to center to work with children. Cons: The new owner is NOT a GOOD CHRISTIAN WOMAN!!! more

Teaching character, responsibility and moral values to your children! 6/20/2008

Gentle Hands is in a growing process correcting many problems that were present when the new owners took over. There have been ""problem"" areas including kids that were disruptive, unwilling to obey and distracting to the learning of the other childen. When you place your children in a daycare environment you have to realize that these women spend more hours a day with your children than their own parents. It is very important that the children learn to behave in a certain manner teaching responsibility, respect, and self control. Otherwise, you are paying a lot of money for just a ""babysitter"". In my opinion, the parents that usually have a problem with this type of program are ones who are not teaching these characteristics to their own children. There is a difference in being ""mean"" and asking for respect.\r Gentle Hands is in the process of finding quality workers who love children. Have you ever worked in a daycare? It is like teaching....the ones that are good at it are not doing it for the money!!! No amount of money or amount of education is going to TEACH you how to love and nurture kids. Those are the people that Gentle Hands is currently looking for to work in their business. I believe that they have weeded out most problem employees and have a great staff to teach your child. \r Addressing the ""christianity of the owner"", I belive the remarks that were made speak for the character of the writer. I would ask, have you gone to the owner with your problem? Does she know that you feel this way? Or, are you ""stabbing her in the back"" by complaining about her business on the internet? James 1:26, ""If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless."" Your mouth will speak for your character. And remember, Jesus was the only perfect human. We all make mistakes, but thankfully he knows that and loves us anyway! Pros: NEW OWNERSHIP, caring staff, offering new drop off service Cons: past ownership gave bad reputation, lack of parent involvement more

THE MOST DANGEROUS DAY CARE IN ARKANSAS 11/16/2007

This school is not clean nor is it for human life to enter inside. It was bacteria crawling all over the sufaces in the kitchen, tables and bath room. Even the water fountain is dripping all over the floor and it smells bad. The mold is growning all over the plumbling and the floors. The sand is so bad the children can not sit on the floor or the mats. All the babies and children have been sick for months and months due to bacteria caused by a very bad virus. Several people I know well have been exposed to this virus on several occasions. The result was fever, chills, loose stools, cramping to a point one person is taking 4 meds and the other 3 meds. They are still so sick from this daycare. The manager is not too bright and she plays like she knows everything. What a danger this daycare is to everyone who comes in contact to anyone in there. If you have a loved one or a friend with children or a baby in there tell them to find another daycare to take them to. Cons: ILLNESS, SICKNESS, UNCLEAN, UNSANITARY more
