Gentle Dental of Westland

The dentist was great, but the staff is awful, I have called for over 3 months now to get approval from Medicaid for dentures. His teeth have been pulled now for 4 months. they say they are waiting for Medicaid, Medicaid states the dentist office didnt submit the correct paperwork, and still waiting.. This is awful customer service.\r Why does it take so long, sure this not there first time. They do not call there patients back. The dentist really needs to get staff that knows what they are doing! There are not many Medicaid dentist's so we all suffer with bad service or a bad dentist! more

WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. This place is a joke. My first appointment I had to wait 2 hours just to get X-rays and an exam...and they had to retake an X-ray 3 TIMES! I work in the dental field and I know this is just not acceptable. I went back for my cleaning appointment...I don't know why they don't do new patient cleanings and exams on the same day but oh well...waited an hour to find out they were going to charge me extra for some type of rinse? I do not have any dental problems nor any type of periodontal disease, so why in the world would I need a special rinse?! They would not just do a cleaning...they are scammers trying to make extra money! I do not recommend this place at all and please do yourself a favor and don't even wast your time coming here. It will just lead to frustration and a headache. more

The worst dental experience I have ever had. The tool that was used to insert the X-rays in my mouth looked dirty. The girl that came in to check for pockets between my teeth pulled the instrument out of her doctors jacket along with the mirror. Then she told me I must see a specialist to look at the majority of my teeth. I went in for a cleaning. I WARN YOU DONT GO TO THIS PLACE. I'm wondering if I could come up with some kind of hepatitis. more

Do not go here! Cracked tooth nerved exposed and infected, sent home with Motrin 800 which I was already taking for pain. And if you say anything you will be seen as a drug seeker, this DEA drug war on doctors is crazy and the Doctor's who are not keeping there oath do not deserve your money. Not fair to people who are actually going to use the pain meds for pain! its total crap shame on these dentists here! more

I had to wait forever! Very poor service, one tech started to help me, then he "had to go", another was called and started the X-Ray all over again, then called another one! Unbelievable! The dentist didn't even show me what tooth needed the filling! \r Avoid the place! more

This dentist's office could possibly be the most terrible I have ever seen. First I had to wait two hours after my scheduled appointment and the room was way overbooked. When I finally got in to get a cleaning, they kept asking if I had got X-Rays done, when I specifically asked not to get any. They did not know how to use thier own equipment and they ended up cutting my gums open multiple times. After they had done a terrible job of just cleaning they said I would have to come in for a second cleaning because of the bleeding. The reason my gums were bleeding were because thier terrible and unexperienced staff. If you even think of going to this dentist, just don't. You will end up paying for pain and you will NEED a REAL dentist afterword. more

I saw Dr. Carpenter at this office and I was very pleased with my visit. If you are looking for a gentle, caring dentist he is the one! Pros: Very happy with Dr. Carpenter more

This is a wonderful office! The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is the best experience I have ever had at a dentist office. Everyone is very professional and extremely sensitive to the needs and comfort of the patient. Pros: Professional staff and dentists! more

Gentle Dental. I?m writing for a few people who have had the regret of going to them for services. It does appear that they've got some kind of scam going on. What makes it worse, is their receptionist knowingly aid these offices in there deception. Hiding behind their sweet talk. Only to agree with you on how BAD the services are, after the fact, and not reporting any of the verbal abuse of patients to their superiors. One particular doctor/ hot head, is very rude and short tempered. (Can?t remember her name, but she had long brown hair) at the Westland office. Beware.\r The 1st clue that this office is not up to par, is that they require you pay up front, for an exam, before you?re even seen! Dead give away there! What this should tell you is that they already know? you?re not going to be happy with their services, poorly rendered. this is a great dentist for children. they are great with kids i have taken my kids there since they were 4 and have had no problems. the staff are very nice.i would recommand them to anybody.the office is clean and there is not a long wait before they call you. more

They charge your insurance for services they do not do. In my case I went in for some work and wanted my teeth cleaned. The dentist told me I didn't need them cleaned. My insurance was charged $80.00 for a cleaning that was not done. Also work is not done well. more
