I absolutely LOVE the frickle pickles! I want the recipe! The huge burger is good too! You have to be careful of the center though. You hear about these places and see them in movies..you know. Cheers type bars and resteraunts with food so good the locals keep it secret, but, you rarely find one in real life that lives up to the hype. Genny's Diner does. The food is so good and they serve such incredible amounts, anyone would enjoy the place for just those reasons. Add an ""at home"" atomsphere and characters that seem to come from the pages of a novel AND the most incredible apetiser you can imagine, namely the Frickle Pickle..and you got yourself a fun, fantastic eatery. At anytime you might see the mayor of louisville, or Boxing champs like Jimmy Ellis or even Ali! The kids love it, the wife loves it, my friends love it...and so do I. Go for the burger, stay for the pickles! By far, the frickled pickles are the mainstay of Genny's. They may not sound good, but one taste and you're hooked. The Sweet Daddy burger (1/2 pound of meat, smothered with cheese) may not be to your liking, but their other menu items are just as tasty. Sit anywhere you like! THis place is excellent. I recently moved to Kentucky from the east coast. They have good food at excellent prices. The atmosphere is very relaxing. You cant find places like this. it is great. more

I remember when there wasn't a huge hype about Genny's diner, and it was still a place that no one knew about. The wonderful thing is, even though it's THE place for the best burger in the world, they still keep things friendly and laid back. The sound of a deep friend pickle will freak anyone out, but trust me, one taste and that will be the only thing you can think about for the next three days. If you're not from Louisville and plan on visiting, make this place a priority on the visit! I have eaten at Genny's twice and both times the burgers were great. I'm a 240 pounder and I wouldn't even try to take on the massive Sweet Daddy Burger. This is not the place to go if you have high cholesterol or are on a diet. These burgers are ground chuck and dripping with grease. Also take cash, no credit cards accepted, but there is an ATM in foyer that charges a $3 fee. Pros: size of portions, value, awesome burgers Cons: greasy, no credit cards, hard to park more

At first, I thought a fried pickle sounded gross. Not now!! I LOVE the fried pickles. I couldn't eat all of my regular burger. Well worth the money!! more
