Genco Pools & Spas

We are in a dispute with them. We gave them a deposit for half of the price for the liner. They are saying we owe them for the steps. Why would the step be quoted separately that is part of the liner? We thought the separate price for what they state is the ""overstep"" was for a plastic insert. They said that would be $5000. So they want another $675 to put steps in our liner. They have not done anything and refuse to return our money stating we are in a contract with them since we came in with the quote and a check. So why did they not say something when we dropped off the deposit that it was wrong???? I will let you know how it turns out. more

I would have to agree with Lynn and 1stcav below about the over charging. Me and my wife are first time pool owners and when we looked for a pool place we found Genco (unfortunately). We asked if they could come install a salt water pump and check our pool light. The person on the phone said it would cost $100 because we already had the salt water system. They came out and took almost three hours to install and check the light. On the way out the told us our Polaris was broken ad they could take it in to get fixed, we agreed because they said it wouldn't be that expensive. When my wife and I showed up to the store a couple days later to pick up our Polaris the clerk at the front was very rude and unprofessional, he didn't even offer to help cary out the products we came to get (more than the Polaris). We ended up getting charging 3 times the amount they said it would cost. Six weeks later the Polaris still doesn't work so I take it back in to receive nothing else but an attitude. They tell me it will be fixed and I could pick it up that day. I dropped it off yesterday and still haven't got it back and had to call them to find out what was going on instead of them calling me. This company overcharges for their parts 100%.On the phone we were told the price should be a certain amount but when we picked up the part we were charged double. Once we made the drive all the way there, there was no turning back, unfortunately! Customer service was ok, (probably b/c of the large amont made off this one sale..Chi Ching) but not very professional. We will definitely look for other pool companies to buy parts from! We had been shopping for a spa for quite sometime, looking for that perfect fit for us. From the moment we walked in the Genco Store, it was just amazing how product knowledgeable they were and it did not stop there. We bought the Marquis and had it delivered. Delivery was so professional, very caring. Set up was even better. They came out and put in our chemicals and then sat down with us to go over each one and what we will need to do in the future. This entire experience has been wonderful and I highly recommend Genco Pools for anyone that wants a spa or a pool or any type of service. We contracted with genco pools to build a pool for us the first of september 2011 and 6 weeks later they were finished, just as they said they would.What as professional group, from the Paul our salesman, Doug the project manager and right down to the guys holding the shovels. we couldnt have asked for a more beautiful pool. i would reccomend this company anytime. These folks provide the absolute worst customer service that ever I've experienced, with ANY business. The salesman disappeared, never to be seen again, after the sale and the guy that handled the installation of our pool left us totally in the dark, as far as what they were going to do and when they would do it. We signed the contract in January and the pool was finished in April. They tell you they were coming out and not show up. No calls to let you know anything. Our pool didn't make it through one summer and now has a serious underground leak that was reported to Genco 2 weeks ago and still has not been repaired. We originally would call the salesman but, many times, he would not return our call. I called their installation guy 2 times to try to find a tool that their repair crew needed and did not have and got his cell VM both times. After the 2nd time, I asked the repairman to call him on his cell phone and he answered immediately, apparently seeing that it was not our( the customer ) number calling. Also, the concrete decking they put around the pool is already cracking. Unless you are looking for a shabby job and even worse customer service, DO NOT BUY A POOL FROM GENCO POOLS in Simpsonville, SC. Pros: Non Cons: Customer service more
