Gemini Eye Care Centers

Don't waste your time or your money. Eye exam was fine but they were not honest with me. I live on a fixed I come and I wanted my prescription for contacts and was told ok and received only the eye glass prescription and you know what else it was wrong! \r I took the prescription to the old eye dr and he said this is wrong and if I make you new glasses they won't be right. They also did not tell me they would not give me a prescription for contacts unless I paid a $ 159.00 fee to be fitted with the contacts and that's in addition to what I would have had to pay for the contacts. Very expensive, not honest, front desk was rude on the telephone. I would advise anyone who needs glasses or contacts, or a exam don't go there. Lesson learned the hard way. No compassion and no help and refused to give you your prescription. Told me it was not even in there computer and I told the dr I wanted contacts and he said ok and your eyes have not changed that much you can have the same prescription. Been a customer for a long time (20+ years) and have always had great eye exams, 5 Stars for that. The things that have stopped me from going back are their selection and quality of frames, poor customer service of front desk people, difficulty in getting a copy of my prescription and not standing behind their products. I have had most of these issues through my time with Gemini but continued to go there because of the excellent exam. The last straw happened when my glasses broke about a month after taking them in to be checked because they felt wobbly when I was cleaning them. I was told they were OK. Took by broken glasses to the store and was informed that I could get replacement frames but would have to pay %50 of the cost because they were over 6 months old and would have to wait at least a week to get them. I was able to get my prescription, after asking twice, and went to Lens Crafters. It wasn’t until I got my new glasses from Lens Crafters, took about an hour, that I noticed I was able to see much better. The lenses from Gemini were off just enough that I had trouble seeing at a distance but not enough to think it was the lenses. I will find somewhere new to get my exam and will probably get my glasses from Zenni Optical, much cheaper and better quality frames. Lens Crafters was great when I needed them the same day but still too expensive. more

I have been a patient at Gemini Eye Care Center for more than a decade. It is a locally owned practice as opposed to a chain. The doctors and staff care about my whole eye health not just my prescription. My other eye doc never did any of the extra tests I get at Gemini Eye Care Center. They take the time to check my contacts and make sure I am in the most comfortable contacts for me. They even helped fit my 10 year old daughter in contacts. Being a new wearer they took the time to teach her about how to put them in, take them out and take care if her eyes. Pros: null Cons: null more

I had a terrible experience where after I told them only to give me tests that my insurance paid for, they gave me optional tests and charged me over $100. When I tried to explain I had asked for only the basics, they rudely told me that it was too late. I left crying!! My dad went back later and got my refund. I switched immediately, but my dad stayed a Gemini customer until this last week. He went to the Beavercreek office and needed to return his glasses that were too big for his face. He agreed to the restocking fee (which he was told was 15% on the phone and 20% in the office) and all charges, but the lady said that she was going to walk out of the room so that he couldnt ask her opinion on anything and "blame" her for anything. I have been wearing contacts for over 20 years. This is the first company that absolutely refused to release my contact prescription to me, unless I paid over 150 dollars. This has never happened to me in 20 plus years. They said I needed to pay a fitting fee. I asked what the dr wrote down. They refused to tell me. I did get my glasses prescription, but not contacts. I also encountered rude staff who was more concerned with talking and gossiping than customer service. DO NOT GO TO THIS EYE DOCTOR. There are many others that are cheaper and accept all different insurances. Their slogan is that we care about making sure you have the best eye care. This was not the case. I am forced to wear an old eye prescription for contacts because they refused to give me my prescription. I would have bought lenses through them too, but they wanted to charge an additional 150 dollar fee. I cannot understand this. The most I have ever been charged in the past for a contact fitting fee is $10. more

Save your Money and go to a real eye Dr. this place is a joke. it is a franchised business that over charges for basic service and will not release your perscription to you unless you buy your corrective lenses from them. more
