I thoroughly enjoy shopping at Gefer Farms. I can always find what I want and a very reasonable price. The produce, meat and deli items are always fresh and delicious. They have an extensive grocery section, including liquor. Not only can you find many ethnic food items, but a large selection of American (including organic) items as well. Although it does not offer the quantity of selections as somewhere the size of Ralphs, I value this because the staff is friendly and willing to help you pick out a good watermelon, if you don't know how to select one yourself, and offers a very home-like comfortable atmosphere. If you're not sure about an item, or want to buy it but don't know how to cook it, there is always someone there who can offer their opinion. Pros: Good food, Friendly staff, Excellent prices more

Gefer Farms is an old fashioned grocery and deli with a focus on European and Armenian specialities. It's a block west of Alameda on SF Rd. There is a great selection of produce and fruit at 1/2 the big store price and the deli has a fantastic selection of meat, sausage and cheese. Staff is friendly and my kids love exploring for unusual treats. Note: For some reason the prices in the Glendale store aren't as good and my wife won't go there even though it's a larger and newer location. Pros: friendly, value, exotic Cons: closes early more
