Joe and Vince have carried on a tradition of great pizza since 1952. My Grandmother took me to Gatto's 40 yrs ago and when ever I am in Columbus ....it is my FIRST stop...Thanks J...

I only ordered from this place one time, and it was absolutely TERRIBLE! We ordered a pizza & double italian sub. The crust was like cardboard, hardly any sauce on it, and it was burned to a crisp! The sub DID have double meat, but only 2 banana peppers and NO italian dressing. I called in and complained, and instead of apologizing, all the manager said was ""What do you want?"" They ended up comping the sub, but overall customer service was severely lacking... more

The oldest pizza place and still the best in Columbus! 12/7/2010

I grew up in Columbus and I live in Miami now. This will definitely be one of my first stops when I get back for the holidays this weekend. If you want real pizza. This is it! more

This is just good pizza. Great crust with super sauce, and fresh topping and high grade cheese. This place knows what pizza is about! Best in Clintonville. Pros: Just good pizza! Cons: No dine in more

The Best of the Best!!! 1/30/2010

I grew up right around the corner from Gatto's in Clintonville and learned very early on that they were the best. Of course I' ve tried others, but always come back to Gatto's because there's nothing like them anywhere I've ever gone!! The crust is light and crispy and--my favorite--the pepperonis curl up with the little pools of grease in the middle! That's what I'm talkin about! Gattos' will ALWAYS be the BEST!! I feel sorry for anyone that hasn't had the experience. Incredible! Pros: Everything--pizza, service, people--fantastic!! Cons: Absolutely nothing! more

We are a couple from Europe living in Clintonville and we have one of Gatto's amazing pizze at least once a week. If you are looking for something Europeans might consider a pizza, Gatto's is the right place: if you ask them, they will prepare a 'ultra thin' crust, you want to ask for the 'light sauce' and you can order 'just a sprinkle' of your desired toppings - and there you have it, like in a thousand places home in Italia. It goes fantastically with a cold beer, right from Gatto's fridge. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous, the delivery service is fast and reliable and the prices are appropriate. Do yourselves a favour and don't mess with one of the many chain stores on High St. Pros: Local, extraordinary European pizza! more

Amazing salad and pizza!! 2/21/2009

This is my first review ever posted, ANYWHERE. I took the time to do this as Gatto's is that amazing. I used to eat it weekly in college, and when I moved to Houston, TX I actually go the unique salad dressing recipie to try and match it (no where close to how they make it). The food, service and hospitality is what makes Gatto's so unique... the restaurant is actually in my phonebook on my cell phone as I might go into sheer panic if I can't get ahold of them. Best pizza in Clintonville, I mean best pizza in Columbus! 10/10/2008

My boyfriend and I lived right down the street from this place and enjoyed their pizza 2 to 3 nights a week sometimes. Love this place. Sadly we moved to Portland for a couples of years, and never found anything even close in Oregon. Now, I am 3 months pregnant and we are moving back to ohio, and the first place I am going is Gattos Pizza. In the mean time all I can do is dream about that moment of reconnection with the best pizza in town!\r Should I mention my first word was pizza? I know what great pies taste like. GO!GO!GO! This is the greatest pizza I've ever had in all my life! I would die to prolong this pizzas existence! Each three ounce meatball exudes juicy delight. Not only is the food superior to all that is good, it is also complemented by an exemplary staff. Vince Gatto's cool composer combined with a lifetime of experience is supremely respectable. Dave, known as Happy, serves as second in command to Vince Gatto. This duo is assisted by the coolest cat I ever met, Steve Martin. His flowy blond locks along with his chill persona makes you feel right at ease upon entering The Gattos pizza. Oh wait! We can't forget the watchful but wise delivery guy, Eric. His skillful maneuvering of his delivery-mobile ensures that the pizzas will arrive in a timely fashion. Gatto's is awesome. Pick-up or delivery only. The owner works most of the time, and is a little salty till he gets to know you. Which shouldn't take too long, b/c as I mentioned, the pizza is awesome. Once you're a regular, he'll let you sit and drink a (purchased there) beer while you wait. Worth moving to Clintonville for. more

Best In Ohio & Pennsylvania!! 8/14/2002

Often, We travel from Sharon, Pennsylvania to the Columbus area. We usually stay in the Pickerington, OH area but we always travel to North Columbus for Gatto's Pizza. We always get Gatto's Pizza to eat there and more to take back to PA. We have been eating Gatto's since 1963. Best Sausage you can find. Also, enjoy the THIN CRISP crust!!! Try it...You will LOVE it!!! Pros: Great taste, Good sausage, I love thin crust Cons: Long Trip, To far away, Need a chain near us more
