Great Liquor Store 9/4/2005

I love Gasbarro's. Whenever I can tear myself away from the going-on's in Jawnston, I head to Federal Hill. And when I'm looking for an elusive, imported bottle of wine or liquor, I make the 5 minute trip to Gasbarro's. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. It's always a pleasure to discuss various spirits. I once was on a hunt for a particular type of Italian wine that I couldn't find anywhere in the States, and guess what? ... they had it, or something close enough that I couldn't tell the difference. The pint is, if you're articulate enough to describe it, they can find it for you. How many liquor stores can do that?! more

Best Italian wine store in the region 8/21/2005

If you like wine or are interested in knowing more about wine, and can make it up to Atwell’s Ave. (and if you have a car you can–Gasparo’s has its own parking lot) you must go to Gasparo’s. They have one of, if not the, best collection of Italian wines in the country, and a great selection of wines and liquors from all over the United States. The staff is helpful and down to earth. Without any condescension or pretentious wine-talk, they will get you a bottle or a case, that meets your needs and is within your price range. Worth the trip, even if you’re not from Providence. more
