Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant

I have never had a bad service at this restaurant. The food is awesome, the drinks are strong and yummy, and the service is quick and friendly. I love this place!! more

We were in the plaza and decided to give it a try. The service was poorly. We got stuck in the back even when there were only 2 other couple there. The server was rude and never told us that the additional tortillas to finish our fajitas had an additional charge. The bill was just numbers and he was impertinent when questioned. we asked to see the manager and he said that he was not there to come back another day. The food was not even good as the carnitas were dry and with no taste. We will not be coming back to this restaurant even if it is only a few miles from our home. more

My friend and I have never been treated so poorly. My friend's meal came with a burrito that only had chicken in it. She asked for some lettuce, cheese, and sour cream to go with it. The server never mentioned that there would be an additional cost. Once we received our bill there was a charge of $4.50 that was not disclosed when I asked for the items. Our receipt was not itemized and only had amounts. When we asked the server she advised us that it was for the additional items requested. We advised her that she never told us that and she basically shrugged her shoulders and got the manager. When Efrain (the manager) came to our table, we explained the situation. He told us "" we do not tell people the cost because they may get offended"" I told him that we were offended that she did not tell us and that was very unfair. The cost of the additional items was more than half of her meal. He told us that nothing could be done. We told him that we would never come back and he smiled at us and said "" I don't really care...It doesn't matter"" I told him that would be her tip and he said that was fine. We were both in shock about the way ""the manager"" was handling this. He took our payments and came back. My friend asked for a copy of her reciept and the name of another manager, Efrain looked at us and said "" Why do you need that? You don't need that"" Not only this but it seemed like every server was staring at us while we were trying to leave. It was very uncomfortable and rude. My friend called the next day to reach someone over Efrain and found out the owner Frank is Efrain's father. The person who answered the phone said that Frank was not there and wouldn't want to talk to her anyways. We called again today and a server named Jerry said that Frank wasn't there and again....he wouldn't want to talk with us. After being rude and hanging up on me, I called back and since he said he had caller id, he didn't pick up until I called from a different number. Still there was no solution. They do not care and they do not let you talk to anyone. If I didn't have to check a star, I would give this restaurant NONE. They should not be allowed to treat their customers like that. \r The food was not even that great! Absolutely no reason for this expereience. more

Just came back from this place today because we were celebrating my mom's birthday and she loves Margaritas. We ordered a couple of the 48oz Margaritas with Patron for 12.99 which is cheap to me and they were soooo delicious. It was Friday so the mexican music was playing and it was a little loud but I liked the ambiance since I had just gotten out of work it was getting me in the party time mood. The food was delicious and authentic with lots of flavor. It gets really busy at this place but I always get great service. If its not your server bringing the food they have an assistant bringing it out. Oh by the way, I don't understand when people complain on here about servers speaking broken English when they are visiting a Mexican restaurant or Japanese restaurant. How can this be an authentic experience with white Gringos serving Mexican food. If you want to be spoken to in English, just go to Taco Bell and stop complaining about it. more

Read previous review of unhappy Happy Hour. This could not be further from the truth. G's has the best margarita's in town. Their is a small army of staff and they are very attentive. When you sit down you will immediately get chips and salsa and a menu. Been there a dozen times now at various times. Dinner and lunch is busy and sometimes slow. But it doesnt matter. The food is consistently great. Suggest ordering off of the house specialties inside menu. Word of warning. The medium margarita is loaded. more

I'm part of a group of women who really enjoyed sitting outside having Happy Hour for the past few Monthsat this restaurant......until last week.\r \r After paying our bill at 6:15, finshing up the last of our drinks, a waiter (not our waiter) came up and said that we had the table long enough and would have to move or leave because he needed the table for a group of six.\r \r He very quickly started clearing off our table telling us to go. One of the ladies still had drink in her glass and he took it... I got the owner to come over and explained what happened. He said drinks for all and ran off and we still had to deal with the waiter telling us to leave.\r \r As we walked out to the parking lot with meet up with the cops...that's correct..they call the cops.\r \r Bottom line, food is good, don't like the margaritas, very poor service, broken English making it hard to communicate...if you go...\r \r EAT, DRINK and get your ass out or they will push you out.\r \r more

My friend and I have had lunch at this restaurant today. It took almost 40 minutes for them to serve lunch. Their excuse is using the wrong meat for my friend dish, therefore they have to recook his dish. We decided to leave because we are late for work. This is first time for my friend, but is second time for me. My first time, they for got my lunch. Their excuse is lost ticket. I just stated the fact and you decide. more

Some friends and i decided to go to Garabaldis for cinco de mayo. We got there really early cause we didn't want it to be packed. I heard that their margaritas were super strong and good. Well... My friends and i got there around 330. It wasn't busy yet... i asked for a margarita, and they poured us a pre-made one. I tried it, it was horrible. I asked if he could just make me one by hand. The bartender said NO. I couldn't believe it. I asked to speak to a manager, and i told him that i would pay for it, i don't mind. I know they pre make them cause it gets busy later on, however, its not busy now. The manager says.. NO, you get what i give you. I said, excuse me.. well, i am never coming back here again.. he says, well there is only 3 of you, and a 1000 of other people that willl be here later... i will take the 1000 of other people. I was floored. All i asked for was a real margarita, and that i would pay extra.. i didn't care. For the manager to say that to a guest, especially when i was extremely polite to him.. is ridiculous. I am a bartender right down the road, and i will be letting everyone know about this. Just to let you know! Cons: management and employees are extremely rude! more

I grew up a few hours from the Mexican border in Texas. I have lived in Orlando for over 10 years and I have finally found the best Tex-Mex in all of the Orlando area. The only place that may compare in the entire city is another little family owned restaurant on the complete other side of town in Union Park.\r \r Several people had told me how good the place is, but I didn't really inquire and actually thought it was an Italian restaurant. I was glad to discover it was south of the border!\r \r Garibaldi?s has the best margarita I have tasted in years, and my date?s Strawberry Daiquiri was incredible. \r \r The salsa is fresh. Tortilla and chips perfect. The fajitas were delicious, taco was popping, beans and rice oldschool tex-mex, perfect. Portions are very very generous; you will not walk away hungry! Get there early if possible. We saw every inside table filled up between 5 to 6PM, but there was still some outside seating.\r \r Staff is busy, but attentive. There have been complaints in reviews about the service being a little slow, it wasn?t for us, but I promise you it is worth the wait. That is what happens when a restaurant has great food and is popular with a lot of locals. I will be back soon!\r \r \r Pros: Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere! I have been here about 4 times and I can't get engough. If they were closer to where I lived I would go there once a week! I LOVE their salsa. It seems very fresh. Their taco salad is excellent. Their taco shell must be fresh because it is so light and soft. I have also tried some of their appetizers (can't remember the names) and have enjoyed them! I will be back! I love this place! Great food and lawesome Margaritas! The service can be slow on the weekends, but well worth it for the price. I have spent hours drinking with friends and never onced asked to leave. Whom ever was asked to leave must either is as obnoxious as there emails or just not a complete story of why there sorry asses were booted. for all those out there that dont spend there days complaining you will enjoy the fajittas and drinks. Very tasty, lots of variety, but the great food and low prices brings a big crowd. It is usually very busy, but worth the wait. The staff is friendly, but rushed, so be considerate. My husband and friend and I have been going there since they opened. We also were asked to leave because they needed our table for others that were waiting outside. We had not finished our drinks or appetizers and had a $70 tab. It is not like we were sitting there eating free chips and drinking water. I am disgusted by their lack of caring for their faithful customers. I will make sure I pass this to everybody that I know and I will make sure no body ever goes back there again. Lets see how long they have tables that need emptied. Pretty soon they will ONLY have empty tables. Maybe they'll learn how to treat their customers. more

I have eaten at Garibaldi numerous times and will continue to return. It's great for a quick, inexpensive, and enjoyable dinner out. I have dined at garibaldis since it opened, last weekend i dined with a friend, we had paid our bill and were finishing our drink when the owner came to our table, asked if we wanted anything else, when we said no, he said he needed this table for the people waiting outside. i informed him i could not believe he was asking a loyal paying customer to leave so he could turn over the table, and that i would never come back, he said ""that's fine"" i was appalled by his rudeness, and would NEVER eat there again and tell everyone about this incident.
