Garden Grove High school

My son is a senior at garden Grove high and has had a wonderful experience there he loves his teachers the school has kept him accountable and keeps parents informed he was a 4 Yr Basketball player and they were extremely competetive with a coach that cared about his kids education first and was a great teacher of life for the negative poster obviously your speaking from probably no experience just maybe what you heard...Well I speak from 4 yrs of being very involved parent my son holds a GPA 3.6 his co-players on his team are going to UCLA and another to Berkeley and are both 4.0 students and not going to even play basketball. more

I have to say that the former person's post is very ill-informed and one-sided. I am currently a Junior attending Garden Grove High School and the quality of education is superb. Teachers are well qualified and many of my colleagues have gone to prestigious colleges, such as Harvard, UCLA, UCI, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Stanford and many others. The school is very diverse, unlike many other schools in southern California, GGHS does not have any majority ethnicity; rather we equally have Hispanics, Asians, Anglos, etc. To say that this is the place where Westminster "dumps their bad apples" is, quite frankly, a hasty, arrogant, and uniformed assertion. I would recommend going to GGHS not only for its splendid education but its outstanding athletics. GGHS is a major competitor in many sports - football, baseball, badminton, tennis, soccer, swim, water polo, wrestling, and basketball. Overall, the quality of life, educational and social experience, and the ethnic diversity is wondrous. I pity the person who posted before me; he probably has never even been to the school or had a chance to meet the teachers and interact with our students. more

Garden Grove High school was a really bad school. It is where the Huntington Beach district dumps their bad apples. Garden Grove High is the only school around here that has from games actives and bomb threat. Yes, you hear me right, bomb threat a few years back. I wouldn’t recommend letting your child go here. I have transferred my little brother to Westminster High school, which is a little bit better. more
