holey cow, if you could have one dish, i would recommend the cajun seafood pasta! order that with a half carafe of the house chianti, and you are set!!! for desert, try the tiramisu. that summed up the BEST dinner out we had in fairbanks, and after walking around exploring down town, it is the best place to go!! more

Erika is the best server we had. Whenever we come here we ask for her, she makes our dining experience wonderful! She is, hands down, the best waitress in Fairbanks and one of the reasons we come here. more

Nice Patio 4/27/2012

Our first night in Alaska I was looking for seafood, but as our shuttle dropped us off in the city of Fairbanks, my seafood fantasies fizzled. I imagined row upon row of crab shacks and lobsters bakes but this is not the case. After a quick walk around a pretty drab town we found Gambardella's Pasta Bella, and our stomachs decided for us. Although a bit warm (no air conditioning) we were seated outside in a nice patio. The wine list is good and affordable, nice salad, good lasagna BUT....the seafood chowder is still one of the best things I have ever treated my taste buds to. Thick and cheesy? I was tempted to cancel my entree and order a larger bowl (in hind site I should have!) Or maybe pour it over a nice plate of pasta! I even went on line to try and find the recipe to no avail (my scale is happy). Fairbanks for Italian...who would have thought? more

pretty darn good or they fix it 10/6/2010

Been dining there for 12 years. Overall pleasant experience when I go there. Atmosphere is good, food is great and service usually very friendly. Long time family owned restaurant. Everynow and then I have had a slight issue or special order and the management always stands by the quality and they fix it right away. more

For business lunches in the downtown area I choose to go to Gambardella's. The weekday lunch menu is delicious. My family enjoys coming for dinner, also. more

Wouldn't go back. 11/30/2008

I did not overly enjoy the food but the atmosphere was the real kicker. I found the restaurant to smell very mouldy/musty/damp. It totally ruined my experience because I was turned off by the smell and cleanliness of the place. I haven't gone back for a second time, and don't plan to in the near future. more

I hate reviews that are NOT honest!!! 5/29/2008

I read the reviews for Gambardella's...and of course favored those that were recent and said the food was delicious....these people should be horsewhipped! It is my considered opinion that the ONLY people who write good reviews for the insolent wait staff and lousy chef are the relatives of the owners....I, for one, am going to send the owners some excellent recipes and try to help them out. Others might consider this avenue, also. Fairbanks could use a good Italian restaurant in this area. more

You should try it 3/24/2008

Italian dishes mainly. We sat up on the rooftop outside. It was a nice night. The food was delicious and it was nice to look out over Fairbanks. Hopefully will get to eat here again someday, as I come from Ewing, NJ. more

LOVE IT 6/22/2005

I LOVE love love the food here. Yum, it is SO good. The service is wonderful too!! The wait staff is very helpful, and if you dont know what you want to order they are good at choosing something for you. The prices are great, a LOT better than a lot of other restaurants in the area. Yum, I think Im going to go to Gambardella's for dinner tonight!!!! PROS: Great food and service CONS: more

This is my favorite restaurant in Fairbanks. The food is excellent and the service is very good. The service is better at night then it is during the afternoon. The restaurant is always clean. more
