Over the past four years, I have had three hair transplant procedures performed on me by Dr. Gallagher and his associates. I needed extensive transplants because of hereditary hair loss experienced by the women in my family. My mother, aunts, and grandmother all had very noticeable hair loss at the hairline and crown areas of their heads. I being female was experiencing the same hair loss. After trying a number of “hair growth” treatments that cost much and did nothing, I decided to go to Dr. Gallagher.\r

Before seeing the doctor, I researched the hair transplant process online and spoke to several dermatologists who recommended Dr. Gallagher. During my research, I noted that that Dr. Gallagher was rated a “Top Doc” in hair restoration in Philadelphia Magazine. After examining me, Dr. Gallagher agreed that I was definitely a candidate for hair transplantation. He explained the procedure to me in detail, what I would most likely experience during the recovery process, and the probable results. He also said that depending on my expectations, I may want to have additional transplants. \r

After the first procedure, I decided that I needed two more procedures. After each procedure my hair became noticeably fuller at the hairline and at the crown. I was extremely pleased with the results. Dr. Gallagher was originally trained as a hand surgeon and consequently has performed many delicate surgeries. His expertise was most obvious to me when, after the procedures I (1) saw that my hairline looked as natural as it had before I started losing my hair and (2) could see no scaring in the back of my head, the area from which the donor hair was taken. Adding to my peace of mind was the fact that Dr. Gallagher explained in detail what to expect after the procedure was performed. As a result, I expected some initial hair loss and that it would months for the new hair follicles to grow in. It would not be an “overnight miracle” as some TV ads for hair restoration companies made it seem. \r
Finally, I was very impressed by the professional, courteous, and genuinely concerned manner in which Dr. Gallagher and his staff treated me before, during, and after each procedure. Dr. Gallagher and Michelle—Dr. Gallagher’s main assistant—were available to answer any questions that I had, and I had many. Michelle told me if I had questions or concerns when the doctor was not in the office—at nights, on the weekends, or on holidays-- that I should NOT HESITATE to call the office number because the call would switch to Michelle’s cell phone, and she or the doctor would answer and talk with me. Overall then, my experience with Dr. Gallagher was most rewarding and of the highest quality. I strongly recommend that anyone losing hair and considering a hair transplant meet with Dr. Gallagher. \r
