Gaithersburg Day Nursery

Wonderful place for your child to spend his/her day while you are at work! Loving and caring teachers, lots of fun activities every day and great outside play area. Your kid won't be bored here and you can have peace of mind while you are at work. I know, I do! Highly recommend this place to anyone! more

I love GDN! I have had my older son in GDN for almost 2 years, and I just started my 7-month old baby in GDN a few months ago. I feel like the Director (Miss Jennifer) and the staff are family. They take wonderful, personalized care of my little boys. I interviewed nannies after I got pregnant with my second baby, but I could not find anyone who gave me the same confidence and benefits as GDN. The baby room is quiet and loving, and the toddler room for my older son is fun, active, creative, and educational. The playgound is WONDERFUL too, and my older son LOVES running around and playing. I love it that both my boys have learned a lot at GDN, but I also love it that the children at GDN are allowed to be little ones, have fun, and play hard. Thank you, GDN! more

My son attended here since he was 9 weeks old. The infant room was fine, albeit a bit run down. Teachers were great. One day when my son was 19 months old, we picked him up early only to find him crying in a high chair where he had been put for a time-out. A time-out that lasted at least 15 minutes. I called the County about this as it seems tantamount to restraint. They agreed. I had been on the waiting list for a new daycare for nearly a year at this point so thought I'd wait out the last month here now that they knew they were being "watched." A couple of weeks later I was suddenly given notice that they were kicking him out for biting. I had NEVER been given any written report on this and never have seen this behavior at my home. Needless to say, this seemed like payback for my call to the County. All-in-all the teachers were mostly kind and invested in my son. The owner, Miss Jennifer was the one who initiated the improper policies and always seemed to view the children as little dollar signs rather actually caring. Staff always seemed to be complaining about her too. Overheard a few conversations. Price is low but you really do get what you pay for. I do not recommend. more

After using the services of Gaithersburg Day Nursery for 5+ years, I have nothing but praise for them. They're taken care of kids while their busy parents are at work or running errands. I left my son there at times when I couldn't find a friend to watch over him. The people at the Nursery are nothing short of spectacular. Highly Recommended! more
