My mother-in-law was at a function that Gabriel was trolling for his next victim. My MIL is an easy target and he took money from her leading her to believe she was buying her daughter a family portrait. I recognized the fact it would be a bait and switch routine and warned my family I was not taking his bait. They agreed if he pulled the old ""this looks much better for $1,200 routine, I was walking out and getting on with my day. Gabriel Tran did not disappoint! This is our third time coming back to Gabriel for our family portraits. We come back every four to five years as our children get older. We love our portraits and got many complements from our friends over the years. We created a portrait wall all in black and white done by Gabriel. After reading the other reviews, I see an unprofessional pattern with this guy in regards to charitable organization donations. Like many others....I, too, bid and won a package through a silent auction that he donated. After setting an appointment, he told us to bring white and black shirts. Well, after arriving 10 min early into a hot studio, he rudely rushed us through our photo session without trying on any of our other clothes that he asked us to bring. When I looked at my watch, I was shocked to realize that we were rushed to finish our photo session literally in 5 min. After seeing the proofs, he tried to push us into buying for his over-priced photos. He even told us that he would delete all photos if we didn?t buy any of the photos. After being treated by his unprofessional attitude, I told him that I just wanted whatever came with the silent auction package. I didn?t want to be associated with his business yet along purchase any of the photos. Because I didn?t purchase any additional photos, he then told me that it would take 3 weeks to develop one 5x7 photo and that I would have to call him to see if it?s ready then come pick it up! When I asked him to mail it, he said that it would cost $25 to mail a plain 5x7 photo! To be treated this way and to be rushed out the door in 15 min is a pathetic way to run a business. My extended family had several portraits taken at Gabriel Tran Photography and they turned out beautifully. We were all very pleased and we each have at least one displayed in our respective homes. Too many people to count have made enthusiastic, positive comments about the portrait that hangs in my home. We saw Mr. Tran's work at a charity event so we bid on a gift certificate and won. My husband and our 2 kids age 2 and 6 went in for the photo shoot . It was a fun positive experience, he wore a clown hat to make the children laugh. We viewed the proofs right away and ordered a 16x20 for our home and some 8x10s and 5x7s for gifts. This clown gets much of his biz by ""donating"" a photo session to charity auctions. The when the person who buys the photo session at the charity event comes to get their photo shoot he uses tactics similar to time share and used car lots to strongly encourage the ""mark"" to spend a huge amount on a digital print! He has little over head, practically no supply costs and he charges more than is reasonable. To ad insult to injury he sends the victim a coupon good for a free 5x7 if they post a favorable review on his website! Pros: Passable Photographer Cons: Hard Sell Rip Off more
