Dr. Brown is the most professional and humane doctor I have ever experienced. Not only did he except my appointment within 24 hours of me being released from OCH for a drastically low blood count caused by an undisclosed birth control method inserted by an undisclosed regional OB/GYN, but he did so with great indifference to my payment being from medicaid over cash. I found his bedside manner to be exceptional as I was I not only given advice on my condition but on my life as a whole as well. He also gave me information about products that are more progressive for my medical condition but showed superiority over his elders, even when only having 3 years under his belt, in the same field by showing unsuspected knowledge about many different medical conditions related. I have only used SCW! Although I didn't have a very good birth experience, I absolutely love my doctor, Dr. Brown! He was very caring and seemed to be equally concerned about mine and my baby's health! I had a high risk pregnancy as well and I believe my prenatal care was absolutely wonderful. Now the hospital is another story! Dr. Pearson delivered my baby and I felt like I was completely rushed into a c-section just based on the fact that I was the only one there and he was ready to get me over with. He said my water had been broken for 5 hours and that was too long! Other than that I loved them!!!! They have already begun their work on the hospital facilities, a whole new labor and delivery unit, I am sure the Clinic is next in line for an up lift and expansion!!! more

I have been going to the SCW for almost 9 years. I have used them for both my pregnancies, one of which was high risk (twins). I use them for my yearly exams as well, and birth control means. Always crowded and a long wait, but the staff and the Dr.s I have seen were always caring and kind, willing to answer my questions and calm my fears. more

I am a first time expectant mom and was not satisfied with my service.The clinic overall, seemed like a good one and the nursing staff and clerical staff were nice, however I personally feel that it's the doctor that you see that can make or either break your whole perception of the clinic . I had a doctor that was new and he was not very concerned about me, just about getting paid. I was in the process of getting my insurance situated,and the doctor would not do some of the things that he was supposed to do. He walked into the room and greeted me and immediately asked about what progress my insurance company was making. He then left the room and personally contacted them and came back in the room and told me he was putting my examination off until next time, when he was sure the insurance should be cleared. I immediately changed doctors. It's hectic enough worrying about whether your unborn child is okay, but it's really hectic when a doctor refuses to care for you and your unbo more

I do not have insurance so i paid close to $300 to have the doctor not even sit down to talk with me but to stand by the door after she was done with the exam and just blow me off. I felt so rushed that i forgot the main question i was going to ask. That was about a year ago. I was going to call to have another exam done because i know i really needed to and the woman at the desk answered and was so rude! I will never go back to that clinic again. more

It is hard to get an appointment here. It's always busy, crowded, and loud. But, once you get in to see the doctor, they make you feel like they are concerned for you. If you get lab done, do not let them send it off, because I've gotten bad results back that was not accurate. more

I have to disagree with the previous comments. I believe Starkville Clinic for Women is the best by far that I have ever been to. I have been married for 15 years and have been using SCW for 14 years now and believe me I wouldn't use anyone else. The staff, nurses, doctors have all been nothing but great to me. I have never had a problem getting in to see a doctor or having to wait. I always get calls back when I call SCW. I have two wonderful children because SCW cared enough to give me the very best care. If it had not been for SCW, I would not have the two precious children that I have today and I probably would not be alive if it were not for the doctors at SCW. I would recommend SCW to anyone that would ask me. more

This is a very busy clinic and it is hard to get into on short notice. The doctors are not very concerned with their patients. I usually visited a satellite clinic in a town closer to me than Starkville. Because of that I only saw one doctor most of the time. When I delivered my second child the doctor who was on call was one I had never seen before and I had a bad experience. (Turns out some other people have had bad experienced with this doctor too.) I would not recommend this clinic. There are better ones in the area with better doctors. more

While the physicians in this clinic are caring and competent, it would seem that the workload on staff there is overwhelming. Upon each visit, lobbies are crowded and loud. Facilities for giving specimens are open and do not provide for much privacy. Prices are comparable with other obstetrical and gynecologic offices, and they accept many forms of insurance including Medicaid. If you want a busy, loud office this might be the place for you. For someone who prefers a more calm, comfortable environment where physicians have ample time to spend with their patients, seek care elsewhere. more
