I can't rank this store with Safeway (five stars) because it's simply too crowded and help is hard to find. I always avoid 5-6 p.m. when there are long lines at ever register and in every aisle. Don't even think about going right before a big event like the Super Bowl or Thanksgiving unless you're prepared to wait. Service is friendly when you can find it, but the people on the floor often don't know where things are, although they do their best to help (when you can find somebody to ask). The Customer Service Desk can be an almost unfriendly place - I guess I'm used to small-town Fred Meyer's service and haven't adjusted to the city yet. There are greeters at each door saying hello and good-bye - now if they would employ those two people to roam the aisles and offer ""where is this item"" service, it would help a lot. Ideally they'd have phones throughout the store, like Target's, where you could ask a question.
