Very Helpful 2/12/2011

I am a young women who was very uncomfortable around guns. My husband has been wanting me to learn to shoot since he was planning to buy one for home protection. We came to the store a few weeks ago to look at guns. We were unaware that they had a range. A young man was helping us look at guns and i expressed my concern with being comfortable with them and he brought over a women who works there and she showed me her gun, and after watching a video and doing paperwork she took me in the range showed me how to stand, hold the gun, aim and shoot. At first i was so nervous and scared, but it was nice having a women help me and show me how to overcome my fear. Now we try to come to the range every weekend and the staff has been wonderful. The helped me overcome my fear and now me and my husband have a new hobby together. more

Not worth the drive 1/13/2011

Kept hearing about their range and selection and I was unimpressed. Couldn't use the ammo I brought on their range, wasn't allowed to fire my .22 rifle and their selection of firearms left much to be desired. Went back today (1/13/12) for a one-year after visit. Spent about thirty minutes browsing and left empty handed. Couldn't get a straight answer from the staff about the availablity of a handgun. I'll never go back. more

Waste of Time 5/28/2010

I drove all the way from Powell because I had heard the ads on the radio. When I walked in, a lady behind the counter was arguing with a customer over sending a pistol back to the manufacturer. Not sure what that was all about. The young guy behind the counter did a great job of ignoring me as I stood in front of him. I was there looking for ammo and a holster for my Taurus Judge. They had a great selection of holsters but I didn't see .45 Colt ammo. I stood there looking stupid for about 10 minutes without anyone even offering to help. I drove for 30 minutes so I could stand in that store and be ignored. I will never go back and I advise anyone looking for friendly people at a gun store to go somewhere else. I wouldn't even rate this establishment with 1 star but it doesn't go any lower. Pros: Good selection Cons: People are rude more

Anywhere > Frontier Firearm 2/27/2009

Called and lady said she was too busy to look up the price of a gun for me. I was told to call back. I called back a few minutes later, and was put on hold by her for 10+ minutes, until I finally hung up. I've been in the store and know for a fact it takes maybe 15 seconds to walk from one end to the other. They have pretty good prices, but I'l pay a few more dollars at Gander Mtn or Coal Creek Armory if I am going to be treated like that.\r \r I recommended not wasting your time there. more

Great Experience 1/30/2009

First Class Operation and very Customer Friendly 1/16/2009

My wife and I made our first visit to Frontier Firearms today. Out intent was to buy her a revolver for home defense. The guys at Frontier were outstanding to a person. They were extremely knowledgeable about firearms and firearms tactics, very customer oriented and they had a great sense of humor. Although they were extremely busy, they welcomed us as we came in the door and several people made time to help my wife make the right choice for her. We talked with the owner, store manager and several of the sales people. All were super. I cannot recommend them more highly. Pros: Super people, very knowledgeable, good selection of accessories more

A total rip-off 11/25/2008

If you care about customer service and price, you can do a lot better in the Knoxville area. These people are rude and dishonest. Spend your money elsewhere.\r \r \r Pros: None. Cons: Dishonest, rude owner, incompetent staff. more

At ease right away 11/16/2008

I have grown up around shotguns and rifles but have not been around many handguns. My husband and I recently decided to purchase handguns(before we no longer can). I went shopping with my sister while my husband was at work. We shopped the big stores and we stopped by Harrison's and though either of us could have bought whatever we wanted, we were dismissed right away while the owner stopped talked to a friend that walked in the store. They were talking local politics. Big Mistake...\r We left and went on to FF and though they were very busy, we were greeted as we walked through the doors. We had not been there long when the store owner picked up her phone and called up a friend to come in and help us. That man, an off-duty officer volunteering his time, spent 45 minutes with us and answered every question we could think of. I explainded I still wanted my husband's opinion before actually purchasing. He did not try to force me into a quick purchase. He genuinely wanted me to make the right choice for me. \r My husband and I went the next day and were again greeted right away. Again a off-duty officer volunteer salesman answered many questions and was so very patient. He even helped me by sort of giving me the longgun comparison.... \r We purchased 2 guns from them that day. My sister and two of her friends have all purchased at least one from them and were treated the same. I do not understand, and am somewhat offended by, the comments made by the man who says he did not get a return call from them. \r If I were to decide to purchase another gun, I would shop Frontier first. Pros: Genuine staff. Good guys. Cons: cramped store made me feel a little chlostrophobic more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! 10/3/2008

I phoned this company a week ago for prices on three handguns and even after a follow up call they have still not gotten back to me with the information; no other gun store I have have dealings with has been so irresponsible and incompetent. So I went elsewhere--S & R Guns and received my answer while on the phone--S & R Guns has great customer service, Frontier does not! Pros: Large selection Cons: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! more
