I will never go anywhere else 12/26/2009

I called on a saturday and they were able to squeeze me in the very next day in the a.m. I couldn't get Lacey who was recommended to me but I got Kelly, who, in my opinion, was just as awesome as Lacey was described as being. I got an arm massage with oils while i waited in between my cut and color. Kelly did exactly what i wanted to a T, and i looked even better than the girl in the magazine i brought in to show her. After my cut, i got a color that was specifically picked out by Kelly that i never would have thought to go with, but looked amazing. i have never had so many compliments on my haircut and color and my co-workers did not even recognize me. i came in looking dumpy and pale, and walked out feeling and looking like a rockstar!!! Pros: Best Haircut & color of my life Cons: They book up quick more

the WORST cut and color/highlights I've ever had! 10/13/2009

I'm writing this because I'm still angry about the money I wasted going here and how messed up my hair was when I left. Let me start by saying I'm VERY PICKY about my hair and pickier about who does it. I've been to some of the best salons in L.A., shelling out in one visit enough to feed a family of five, and unfortunately that doesn’t translate into a great cut and color. In other words, I’ve had my hair F^*ked up by some of L.A.’s finest! Since the reviews for Frenchy's were favorable (and since it was nearby and since there was street parking), I decided to go. I met with Lacy who was nice and calm and she seemed to understand what I wanted. But instead of highlights I got stripes and she made a few snips at the ends and charged me for a haircut. When I called a week later and asked to speak with her, the receptionist said “what is this regarding?” I thought: is she serious or stupid? and realized she was both so I simply said, “um, my hair.” She barked “Lacy can’t take you today.” I reiterated that I’d like to speak with her. I thought: “Who made her Lacy’s bouncer?” and when she asked me again what it was regarding, I said “Look, just have her call me.” Except that she never has. I’ve never before said what I’m about to say: This place sucks! Pros: convenient, street parking Cons: where do I start? more

lacy is amazing and you will love her! 8/12/2009

Lacy is very personable. I like that she always asks exactly what you want to have done but will also will offer her opinion to help with your decision. Pros: wonderful, talented hair stylist Cons: sure wish I could place the tip on the credit card more

monday afternoon's bird's nest 7/13/2009

Its the worst haircut I've had in a long time! My betty page waves were turned into a half-dryed mop that turned into a frizz ball as soon as I walked out the door. The girl that was cutting my hair was doing someone else's color at the same time, so she was running back and forth between the two of us. She gave me a crappy cut that took less than ten minutes and dryed it flat with absoutly NO style. I guess she was in a hurry. Put it in a pony tail when I got home. Had way better cuts at fantastic sams when I was a student. For 55 bucks I would expect much more. more

SARAH IS THE BEST! 1/21/2009

I LOVE Frenchy's and particularly SARAH. She's a perfectionist who really takes her time to make sure your hair cut is even and meticulous. I've not had any color services done yet, but that's coming very soon. The atmosphere is retro and super chill. The girls that wash your hair give great scalp massages which is the icing on the cake. Actually everyone is super nice. I would recommend Frenchy's Salon and SARAH to anyone looking for great service and a great cut. more

Kristen's Fantastic 10/20/2008

This was my first time with Kristen as my previous stylist has left town. Let's just say I now have a new stylist for a great cut. (I hear she does good color too). Kristen was very thorough and kept much of the length as I asked but gave my fine hair lots of volume and bounce, with flattering layers in the front that frame my face well and fall nicely when my hair's pulled back in a ponytail. Everyone is very friendy, the coffee's great (i'm a big coffee lover) and best of all the prices are fantastic!! I've been to some of the best salons in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, but I keep coming back to Frenchy's. more

Lacey Rocks My World! 9/18/2008

I have been to my fair share stylists but Lacey has been the only one I've felt compelled to go back to time and time again. I found this place when I was living in Burbank but now that I've moved out to the Westside, I still make the drive back into the Valley to see Lacey. Anytime I go in, I know my hair will come out looking awesome and even if I can't see her for a few months, I know my hair will grow out and still look fantastic. My mom is usually my harshest critic when it comes to haircuts but even she is asking me if she can come see my stylist after seeing my haircuts. Not only do you get a great haircut but a great deal as well. I used to pay $90+ in Beverly Hills for a so-so haircut but now I get a guaranteed GREAT haircut for just $55 (plus tip of course, but that's a small price to pay for someone who does such a great job). You will not regret going to see Lacey! Pros: Great haircuts! Cons: It's in the valley :( more

LACEY .... Read this... you will thank me. 7/8/2008

Right so, everyone knows finding a new hair dresser is the WORST. I read on this site and some others that lacey is the gal to see (you would not believe how many sites and people rant and rave about her.) I was pretty sure I would not get in with her, because of all the great things said... but the lady on the phone was so great, and she squeezed me in. I have never spoken to someone that was so accommodating. I came in scared, because I have had my hair ruined in the past. Lacey sat me in her chair, and could sense my apprehension. We TALKED throughly about what I wanted.... which is a first.... she actually listened. I got an amazing scalp massage. She started to cut my hair, and after about 30 seconds I was at complete ease. She explained EVERYTHING she was doing to me... which made me feel so much better... (you tell them an inch and they take three.... she did JUST what I asked.) Soon I was laughing. Lacey has a way with people... I was laughing so hard from the things she was saying. I actually ended up having a FUN time. When she was done... it was JUST what I wanted. I was so shocked. I called my friend as soon as I left, and ten minutes later... she had an appointment with lacey, and the next week told me how amazed she was too. I can not tell you enough how great my experience was. I have never written a review.... but this was such a find... I had to share it with the world. Seriously, Go see Lacey. Pros: Lacey, scalp massage, Lavender scent Cons: BRING CASH FOR YOUR TIP! more

Run dont walk to Julianas skilled hands!!! 7/1/2008

I have gone through countless stylists in recent years. None of them where as skillful and awesome as Juliana at Frenchys. She was personable and attentive. She even through in a free scalp message. I just hope I can still get in to see her after all these great reviews on here. more

Juliana is awesome! 6/29/2008

I love Juliana's cuts and color!! Nobody has been able to really understand what I like and need until I started going to her (i'm a really basic hair style type, no fuss), and she has always given me a cut that it super low maintenance but also HOT and HIP and grows out beautifully! I've wanted bangs for years and it always ended in disaster until Juliana cut them, now I love them! She's the sweetest stylist you'll find, and this girl knows what she's doing! Pros: Great staff more

Juliana is Awesome! 6/27/2008

Juliana...what a sweetheart. She helped me explore some great color options and gave my curly hair some style. The shop has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. I particularly enjoyed the scalp massage. The rose scent massage oil was nice. This is a true hollywood style salon...very hip. Pros: Very nice staff - cool atmosphere Cons: Parking a bit challenging more

It's not the same... 5/8/2008

I go to Connie for color and cut and have been for quite a while. When I went to book an appointment, they told me that she left and I went in to see someone else. The energy there was not the same and I didn't have the greatest experience. I later found out that Connie moved to Krimson Hair Studio in Burbank. I'm so glad I found her and it's a great atmosphere. It's not too far away and she's still giving great service in a great salon! more

I obviously got the wrong hairdresser 5/3/2008

I went to Frenchy's 'cause it's down the street from me and all the reviews were so positive. Apparently I got the wrong hairdresser. She was condescending and didn't listen to what I wanted in my hair cut specifically. She gave me some BS hipster haircut, even though i specifically described how i wanted my hair to look. i wouldn't recommend her by any means...maybe there are some better hairdressers in this salon, but i'm not going to go back to find out. I'm really disappointed with my haircut. Pros: atmosphere Cons: condescending staff more

Connie is the coolest! 4/15/2008

I have been going to Frenchy's for a couple of years on the recommendation of my ex boyfriend (the only great advice he ever gave me! haha, just kidding). I started going to Chelsea who was wonderful, but moved away. Then I was lucky enough to be given Connie as a stylist and let me tell you this woman is a goddess. She is a FANTASTIC hairstylist and she always gives me exactly what I want. I plan on getting relaxer and color with her soon. She is nice, funny, professional and a singer in an eighties cover-band group. What more could you want? Go to Frenchys- it's just such a fun, cute salon with many great stylists. Oh, and Wendy is one of the sweetest people, and she has a great sense of humor also. Highly, highly recommended!! more

Disappointed 3/12/2008

I visited this place for the first time and after a decent color... I got a horrible cut!! She layered it so much with a razor I barely have any hair. I tied my hair in a pont tail to go running and I barely have any hair left and it looks like I got a mullet cut. No leave in conditioner spray was used or styling products. She just blew it out and that was it. She was very nice but I was very disappointed even though there were alot of good reviews about the place. Oh well. more

This place is a hidden gem! 1/14/2008

I have had so many bad hair experiences and almost gave up completely. A friend of mine suggested that I try her stylist but I was already intimidated from all of my other experiences. I figured a consultation wouldn't hurt so I called Frenchy's and asked for a consultation with Connie. The minute I walked in, I was greeted warmly and listened to. I asked her for suggestions regarding my highlights and cut and hoped she could fix them! The following week, she gave me the most amazing highlights and cut and showed me different ways to style it. She told me to pop in any time for help, suggestions, and free bang-trims. I love Connie, and Frenchy's and highly recommend the experience!! Pros: Connie and the cute little dogs... more

A little Scared 12/7/2007

I just recently read on Myspace that the place will also be opening in Austin Texas, which is totally awesome, because the salon is so neat. But I got scared and had to write my Stylist Lacey Magdalene to make sure she would be going no where. I Have been going to Lacey for just under two years now. I am so fortunate to have met her. She does my hair perfect every single time. I usually get the girl who does it great the first time, and the second is horrible. Lacey has given me the perfect cut and color every time. My cut grows out amazingly. I have sent all my friends to her, and they love her also. I have never heard a complaint. I know if Lacey moves salons (oh god I hope not) there will be an Army of women that will fallow her, because she is too good to let pass by. If you have never been here, Go. Its an experience you will not regret. ask to be with Lacey. Pros: Lacey Cons: parking more

If you want fused extenstions, this is the place to go!!! 11/20/2007

I was recommended to Frenchy's by a good friend. She had gotten her extensions done there. I looked around at a ton of places, but the best price I could find was at Frenchy's. I was told to go to Lacey Magdalene. She seemed tough and scary at first, but once I sat in her chair, I realized she's a sweet, down to earth girl with a funny streak. She was so kind and gentle. That was my first time getting fused extensions and she explained the entire process to me. She made me laugh and I felt like I had been going there for years. When she was done putting them in, she blended my hair really well, which no one has done before when I've had extensions and was very open to letting me tell her what I wanted. I have been to soooo many salons for haircuts, colors and extensions...and I really have to say that nothing will ever compare to Frenchy's. I would recommend this place to anyone. more

The Best For Guys and Girls! 9/27/2007

I have been getting my hair cut by Connie for a while now and she really understands how to give a great men's cut that fits my job and my style. My girlfriend was having a hard time with her stylist so I sent her to Connie for a cut and color and she really loves it! We're hooked! Pros: Connie's great! more

FRENCHY'S RULES!!! 8/31/2007

I absolutely love Frenchy's! I was a little nervous about having my hair done by a new stylist, but I was put in the hands of Lacey Magdalene, and I was SO happy with my hair afterward! She is very professional and makes you feel completely taken care of... and most importantly, she is very intuitive about what you want. In essence, I asked her to do whatever she felt was best with my hair, and it turned out exactly how I wanted. Completely exceeded my expectations!!! Don't hesistate to stop in and try something new... I am glad that I did! :) Pros: Great prices, great stylist, scalp massage (!!) and cute atmosphere. Cons: I didn't experience anything negative more
