I think the FC lost its charm a long time ago. The food is good but not great. Service is ok but I prefer an atmosphere that is less stuffy.

Excellent French Cafe 4/16/2006

The food here is excellent, in keeping with the French love for good food and good wine. Servers here are skilled at making wine recommendations with your meal and the atmosphere invites you to stay for hours in the company of good friends or your loved one. The entrées are a bit expensive for Omaha, but the food is actually worth it. They have also begun to offer a bistro menu that provides some more affordable options ($16-24). I highly recommend The French Cafe if you're looking for a special place to dine in the Old Market. more

Oh, the French Onion Soup! The French Cafe has the most wonderful French Onion Soup and Escargot that I have had. This restaurant has the best wine list, terrific menu selections, outstanding service and exquisite ambiance of any restaurant in the area. It is truly an upscale bistro and every menu selection is pricey but well worth it. The chef is excellent and the specials are enticing and difficult to choose from. Truly a wonderful date night restaurant or special night out or just for a treat. more
