Best

French Bridals is the perfect place to go for all of your wedding attire! This was the first Bridal Boutique I went to in my search for the perfect wedding gown and I found it on...

Worst

So I went to French Bridals along with my mother and my sisters, who were also looking for Prom dresses, to try on a few impromptu wedding dresses. Not only did Linda, the owner, ...

Terrible! 10/24/2009

My Fiance just called me crying after leaving this place. Being indecisive between two dresses, she was told to hurry up and decide and that if she did not purchase anything today, she would be charged a fee of $75 each time she came back! My fiance has been dreaming about the experience of shopping for a wedding dress since she was a little girl and French Bridals ruined it for her. Pros: Beautiful dresses Cons: Everything else more

Very unprofessional 4/15/2009

I didn't even make it into the door of this store and I had a horrible experience. I called the location to ask if they accepted walk ins or appointments only. The woman on the phone asked me if I was purchasing the dress there, which I couldn't answer because the father of the bride was going to be buying the dress. She told me not to come in saying ""We get used a lot by women who just want to try on the dresses and then leave, so we don't allow people to come in unless they are going to buy"". I told her that I would take my business elsewhere! Horrible Salesmanship more

Rude customer service; commission hungry 3/16/2009

I have had a couple of experiences with this shop - none of them which have been good. One, I went in as a bride to try on gowns. Although the experience wasn't awful, it wasn't great either. The woman helping me seemed preoccupied and treated me as though she would rather have been doing something other than helping me find the gown of my dreams. Experience number two: I took my soon-to-be sister-in-law there to look for her wedding gown (simply out of location and convenience). Her experience was even worse than mine. The woman helping her cared about nothing more than making her commission for the day. My S-T-B-S-I-L was so aggravated by the way that she was treated, that even though she fell in love with a dress there, she refused to buy it from them b/c they were so awful and rude. Experience #3. I stopped by the shop on my lunch break one day to get fitted for a dress that I had to buy for a wedding that I am in out-of-state. It is my understanding that any dress shop will fit you for a dress as a courtesy (as other shops do the same for them). I was greeted by the woman at the door, who already seemed to have her guard up before I even said hello, and was especially rude once I told her why I was there! She went into instant ""B"" mode... and told me that she needed the other dress shops fax number in order to measure me. I had also never heard that was necessary, so I was not prepared with this information on my lunch break... and I told her that I was sorry I didn't have that info on me, but I didn't have a lot of time and would she mind taking my measurements. She was completely rude and refused to help me (and there wasn't even a single other customer in the store at that time!). It wasn't even that she wouldn't do it so much as that she was so RUDE about it. I will NEVER go back there for ANYTHING and I will be sure to tell EVERY single bride that I know not to step foot in that store unless they wanted to be treated like they are at fault for something before they even open their mouths! These people may have some nice looking dresses, but they are NOT worth trying on to be treated so horribly. Pros: Nice dress selction Cons: Not worth buying a dress though b/c the people are SO rude! more

Beyond Unprofessional 12/11/2008

The owner of this shop has no customer service ability... From reading these reviews, it sounds like she should stop announcing who she is. more

Rude owner 12/5/2008

Owner was extremely rude-- she made me feel very uncomfortable. Notice how all reviews are either 4-5 stars or 1 star... a little suspicious. more

French bridal excellent service. 10/25/2008

I went to the store with my fiance today for the first time, we both were impressed by their service and that is the another reason that we bought the gown. Their gowns are gorgeous, I also bought the vail, it was so beautiful and goes good with my gown. I'm like the others brides who really impressed by their gowns and their service, I really like Anna who help me picked out my gown and the owner was very nice also. They both were teasing my fiance that he did a good job holding the small mirror and that made us feel more comfortable. I definitely disagree with the one who says that they are pushy because they weren't pushy to us at all, instead they are nice and patient and gave us space to talk and discuss about the gown. I am not trying to say that they are 100 percent perfect for the whole service because I am not getting my gown until next Febuary or March. But I will definitely tell other brides if something goes wrong!! I'm not the owner^_^! Pros: service more

Save yourself the pain 9/24/2008

I have never had a worse experience. The Shop OWNER made a mistake when ordering my bridesmaid dress and then told me I could have alterations done for the same price as what I paid for the dress. When I inquired about what other options I might have, she unprovoked retorted that she doesn?t ?even have a responsibility to press a dress when it comes in""? She continued to her rant and insulted me by telling me that that I would always be a bridesmaid. more

Shopped here for a formal gown 9/17/2008

I was not here to shop for a wedding gown, but rather for a formal dress. I went to their sample sale and had wonderful success. Both the owner (I forgot her name) and Anne, who helped me, are lovely. I couldn't disagree more with the people who said they were pushy...they were not at all pushy with me! They helped me into dresses, suggested accessories and stayed around to give their opinions and help clip the too-large dresses to me. Yes--they were very present during the process, but I consider that helpful, not pushy. There was no pressure whatsoever to buy anything. Pros: Excellent customer service, beautiful formal gowns Cons: A bit pricey more

Dont Be Fooled!! 8/28/2008

I went to French Bridals recently with my sister and some of her Bridal party. I read the other poor reviews and I agree completely. You get roped in at first becuase the place is called Frence Bridals and you think that they may be an upscale boutique. However, they do not put the tags on the dresses and if you ask who the designer is they dont know. I mean come on...you have 15 dresses in your store and you cannot remember the designers??? How can you advertise as a boutique that carries so many designers then?? I found the owner and saleswoman to be pushy when they told my sister that she should get every single dress she tried on. At least i wont be giving them any more business and neither will anyone i talk with who is shopping for a dress. Go somewhere else where if the prices are high its because its a designer dress and not becuase you are being ripped off! And be ware of such glowing reviews....what bride really has enough time to get on this website and go on and on about the store where they got their dress....they are probably planning their wedding or on their honeymoon....i'm sure the owner wrote those reviews! Pros: convenient to highway Cons: rip off more

French's Bridal Beverly 8/18/2008

I'm not quite sure why there are so many negative reviews about French Bridal. I bought my dress there this past May. I found the owner to be so incredibly helpful. She brought out dresses that really complimented my figure well. Since her shop was the first I looked at, she didn't pressure me at all. I actually went back a few days later to purchase my dress. I couldn't of been happier with the choice I made. Pros: staff, ambience, parking more

Pushy sales people 8/6/2008

Someone from the bridal shop definitely wrote the good reviews. Two of the reviews call it a place ""with heart"". Kind of a random descriptor if you ask me. Cons: Sales, prices more

Disappointed 4/22/2008

A couple of weeks ago I decided I would go check out this ""hidden gem"". My mother and I had driven by the bridal shop multiple times. I wasn't exactly sure what type of dress I was looking for and I found them very unhelpful. There were some dresses that I liked but they were very pushy towards everything I tried on. I felt very pressured into the sales and was very disappointed in the customer service. I would not waste your time going there. more

Great Bridal Shop 4/9/2008

I grew up in Manchester-by-the-Sea, where the French Bridals shop used to be, and would always admire their beautiful window displays. Fast forward 10 or so years ... the shop is now in Beverly Farms and I am now engaged. I was living in Boston at the time and had visited lots of ""prestigious"" bridal salons all over the city but hadn't yet found THE gown. So, I made an appointment here, and was really pleased. The ladies working here were very gracious and helpful. They were good listeners and gave me a great selection of gowns to try on. I wound up finding a stunning gown that was very reasonably priced. They also offer a nice selection of tiaras, shoes, and all the other accessories. The service for alterations was prompt, kind, and personable. I was very happy with my experience here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality bridal boutique. Pros: Gracious service, good selection, reasonable prices more

Stay Away 1/22/2008

I find the good reviews questionable. I would not be surprised if the owner wrote the reviews. I had a terrible experience going to french bridals with my aunt. The owner was rude and unable to answer our questions. Tags were not in wedding gowns so you could not tell the designer of the dresses. I would not recommend this boutique. more

A hidden gem 8/15/2007

Like every bride to be, I went to hundreds of bridal shops. However, French Bridals was the only shop that truly offered me around the clock full service. The dresses there were stunning, as I had one on one assistance by the lovely ladies. They never pushed me into any dresses and allowed me to take my time. The ladies helped me find my dream dress and they patiently waited as I tried on dress after dress. Their help didn?t stop there though. I felt comfortable leaving my dress in the hands of the hands of their truly skilled seamstress Rosetta. All the alterations were done right there on the spot and they also had ?Bustle lessons? for my bridesmaids so they were able to bustle my long train. French Bridals truly exceeded my expectations of ANY Bridal Shop and the ladies there are such a pleasure to be around. I?d recommend French Bridals to anyone looking for a full service salon with a lot of heart! Pros: Customer service, tiaras, veils, gorgeous bridal dresse more

Best Bridal Shop 8/12/2007

If you're looking for an incredible bridal experience, French Bridals is the spot to go to. It?s a small shop with a lot of heart. The employees are friendly and willing to do almost anything for a customer. The store is glorious, with a great location on a main road and the dresses are one of a kind beauty. It can take a few minutes to get a dressing room on a busy day, however, the shop works to make your bridal experience stressful and carefree. Everything is done right there for you at the shop. My whole wedding party got their dresses there. From my mother, to my husband?s mother, to my bridesmaids, to my little flower girls. I shopped for months on end with out finding my dream dress. At French Bridals the ladies helped me find my dream dress and never pressured me into buying anything. I never had to worry about the condition of my dress or any of my other parties dresses because the alterations were done right there at the shop. In the end French Bridals offers friendly courteous service. Pros: Great affordable service more

Don't waste your time 1/26/2007

Don't bother with French Bridals. They have a number of designers listed on their web site, yet when I asked about seeing dresses by a certain designer I was told that they don't carry specific brands but instead they have dresses made to order by manufacturers. The dresses they did have were not that impressive, a tad out of date, and were overpriced for what no name dresses of questionable quality Pros: Pretty wedding hair accesories Cons: Everything else more

Get your dress anywhere but here... 1/12/2007

Having been recently married and having most of my friends go through the process of finding a wedding gown, I have been to at least 25 different bridal salons. This was my worst experience. The sales ladies are rude and pushy. You constantly feel rushed and uncomfortable. My friend ended up getting a dress there 'cause they gave her an ultimatum. They coerced my friend into getting her dress there saying they would probably sell it if she didn't decided that day etc. etc. The worst and most horrifying part was that my friend went back to try on veils with her dress. She picked one and told them she was going to buy it, the lady took the veil to the office and when she came back it was miraculously 100 dollars more then when my friend had said she wanted it. Either they think customers are idiots, or they are idiots. I would not recommend this store. Your bridal experience deserves to be so much more then they have to offer... Cons: sales women, prices more
