Freedom Christian Academy

My grandchildren got sick while attending FCA. After many test the doctors found that they had high levels of toxic mold in their bodies. The mold they have comes from a water damaged or leaking building. The building leaked the 3 years that they attended the school. more

The teachers do not want to deal with the issues of the younger children when they do something deemed to be against the rules. The schools way of handling the problem is to call the parents to come pick the child up. Most schools would use some sort of discipline first and if the behavior continued then meet with the parents to discuss options. Not this school they want to take the easy way for the teachers. more

This school looks great on the outside - but inside students are disciplined like pre-schoolers, teachers yell at the top of their lungs, and cannot handle any child with a disability or behavior issue (no matter how small). If you disagree in any form with their policies - these are not up for debate - you child will be asked to leave or not come back. more

We definitely don't feel welcomed to this school. It also feels more like a business than a Christian place of learning. After paying tuition, they still always have their hand out. I wish there were resources to help with tuition and a uniform swap. I don't know if science is ever going to be taught. I feel her old school was way ahead on education. more

My family has been a part of Freedom Christian Academy since it first opened four years ago. I have never seen such growth in such a short period of time. God is truly blessing this school and it is a pleasure, as a parent, to see my son reap the benefits. The school's leadership has incredible vision for the future and yet, has not allowed dreams of the future to distract them from the here and now tough, moral decisions that have to be made. They have never compromised their integrity. Head of School, Joan Dayton, is firm but FAIR! Freedom offers so much...parents like challenging academics, accountability, and the nurturing environment. Students can enjoy encouraging teachers, well-behaved peers, technology integration, and a variety of extra-curricular activities. With Freedom Courts adjacent to the school, sports teams have a huge advantage. Well over 400 students in 4 years....they must be doing something right. Glory to God! more

You posted this review which was the only positive review I found on the school's web page. The rest were all very negative and informative and, therefore, I will keep my child far from the clutches of such a woman. Mainly because I don't have money due to my husband of 12 years leaving me and a teacher there is now in his life and because of her he wants nothing to do with his 11 year old son. more

Joan Dayton is one of the most gifted educators and administrators I have ever known. Watching her engage her classroom in a discussion about history is a delight. She does everything she can to make sure the children under her care leave school fully equipped to do well in college and take their places serving in the Body of Christ! more
