Just what I wanted 10/31/2008

About four months I stepped into Free Spirit Yoga for my first class with Stephanie and have been going twice a week since then. I was brand new to yoga so a girlfriend of mine experienced in it came as moral support. I found and came away with just what I wanted - a tranquil, ""leave your baggage"" at the door ambience, and a wonderful sense of physical and spiritual rejuvenation. When I asked my friend what she thought of the class, she said that Stephanie was one of the best instructors she has ever had. more

respecting my body's limits 10/14/2008

I really appreciate Stephanie's gentle reminders to respect my own body's limits. She often tells us to create our ""own stretch"". I am also grateful for her training. Pros: good space, parking, friendly well trained instructor Cons: wish there were windows in the yoga room more

An Oasis in a Desert of Stress 10/11/2008

I started Yoga with Stephanie a bit over a year ago. I rarely miss a weekly class as I find them very relaxing and restorative. I still consider myself a beginner but I feel confident in each class and find myself taking something away every week. Stephanie is excellent at helping everyone get the most out of each class. The classes are perfectly balanced with emphasis on poses, stretches, and exercise in an environment encompassing the principles of yoga. My quality of life has improved since I started at Free Spirit Yoga. Pros: Instruction more

Everything A Yoga Class Should Be 10/11/2008

I have had the opportunity to study yoga with several teachers and one of the lessons in yoga is to embrace and accept each person for what they have to offer and celebrate their individualism. I personally am not looking for an aerobics teacher turned yoga teacher because it is now in vogue. There is so much more to yoga then the physical aspect; yoga is about mind, body and spirit and Stephanie gets all that! She doesn?t preach she teaches by example and encourages each student to proceed at their own pace and to listen to what their body is telling them. Her methods certainly meet my needs and I appreciate her wonderful and loving soul. Stephanie loves what she does and it shows! more

Great Instructor! Great Exercise! 10/9/2008

This year is the first time that I decided to try an alternative source of exercise for both my body and spirit - yoga seemed the best option. I must admit I was a bit skeptical but after taking Stephanie's yoga therapy classes, I was hooked for life! Stephanie was a wonderful guide through the experience -- stretching and strengthening my body, while also challenging me to look at my lifestyle to determine if I needed to make any changes to heal my spirit -- whether that be my relationship with food or my relationship to the people in my life. After the therapy sessions were completed, I continued on with the ""Body Beautiful"" classes and have never felt better in my life. Stephanie, thank you for showing me how to exercise both my body and spirit, as well as being my friend through the entire journey. My life is better because you are in it. Pros: Kind & understanding instructor, class sizes are great, atmosphere is relaxing more

A calm and restorative yoga experience! 10/9/2008

After a few years of taking classes at Free Spirit Yoga, I moved to a town across the river. Due to the longer commute to arrive home, I gave up Free Spirit Yoga. Since then, I tried a community yoga class with a friend and another in a yoga studio. I did not enjoy either class enough to attend a second time. What was missing from both those classes was the connection with the instruction. Stephanie makes each person feel cared for and special. Her beginners class is challenging yet easy to follow. She is always willing to demonstrate the movements....no matter how many times you may forget. In her newer location she has created a calm and relaxing atmosphere with few reminders of the distractions of the outside hectic world. Two weeks ago I returned to Free Sprit Yoga and knew immediately I was back in the exact right place for me. Pros: Lots of parking, easy location to pull in and out despite traffic, class begins promptly Cons: One may be tempted to grab a pizza afterwards as located next store more

A great place to practice Yoga 10/6/2008

I have taken Yoga off and on through the years, but am no expert. I recently started at Free Spirit Yoga and really love it! It is challenging without being overwhelming. Stephanie is just a really nice person, very welcoming, very non-judgmental. I've enjoyed not only the class, but also the other people in the class. I am so glad I found it! Pros: Stephanie is great, the people in the class are nice, conveniently located more

Not a good class.... 8/3/2007

Stephanie is not as good as some yoga instructors that I've had in the past and I have to say that she is a little bit out there. I found the class quite mundane. The location is a bit dull too and not conducive to meditation. more
