Pizza was undercooked, including meat--vomited a few hours later, shouldn't have risked it.

The lasagna was ok. It was stuck to pan in places. Usually, I can transfer contents to alternate dish with no issues. However, there were areas stuck to bottom of pan. Overall taste was good. more

Everyone is always talking about how great Fred's Pizza is. "They have the best pizza in town!" Well I'm sick of all the pizza talk. I love pizza myself, but Fred's pasta is where it's at for me. I love their pasta and I'm probably going to eat some tonight. more

World Class food is correct! The very best Italian restaurant in Michigan or anywhere else. Great food served in large portions for very little money! I have no idea who they do it! Even the beer is always fresh and cold..WOW more

This place is awesome! Home made chicken noodle soup with home made\r noodles. Excellent! The pizza is absolutely the best there is. I just\r can't do them justice on here. Go and try for yourself. I was on www.bestmichiganbusinesses and found a positve review of Fred's Italian Pizza Rstrnt It brought me in a round about way to find this site which has an even more amazing number of positive reviews! Of course I had to try Fred's and wow the food is amazing! If you havn't been you need to try the place out. You will end up adding your positive review also. Fred's Pizza & Italian Restaurant in Grand Rapids is the best restaurant in the world! When you walk in to Fred's you are instantly carried away to a better place! The smell of the food is amazing! The owner Sam makes all the food on site never any of that boring chain store food"Pietro's". The servings are large the cost is low and the service the best I have ever seen. If it seems like this is heaven well yes that is true. Go to Fred's now and gorge your self, eat like there is no tomorrow, and the go back the next day for more. Pros: Best food in the world Cons: not open 24/7 more

Amazing Pizza 1/7/2009

Fred's the name alone makes me hungry you walk in the door and the wonderful smell overwhelms you in pure joy. Every item on the menu is great. The food is all made fresh using the same care that Fred has always used. There are more expensive Italian Restaurants in town but none with food this good. I have tried nearly every combination of toppings I could think of and every single pizza has been great. Do yourself a favor get yourself to Fred's. Come early it gets packed often. It is truly heart warming to find a place with food this great at such a very reasonable price. Pros: Best food in town very nice people Cons: gets a bit crowed due to the great food and service more

Mom never cooked like this! 10/14/2008

Fred's Pizza Italian Restaurant is a special place but don't tell my mom. She's from the "old country" she must have grown up in the wrong Provence or something don't get me wrong her chicken Marsala is good. But sometimes I just feel the need to get it at Fred's try the cannelloni also it's wonderful and the homemade sausage is sooo good. When my wife was on the nest she'd get these cravings for Freds well of course being the good husband I am I obliged her every whim, of course I'd have to order something for myself and make sure I showed up early to pick up the order so there was time for a tall draft of Labatts! life's good eat at Freds. Word of Mouth No Kidding! 10/6/2008

When you pull into Fred's Pizza it's not much to look at, not much of a parking lot for that matter. Please note I latter found out about more parking around the back and a back exit that allows you to exit safely at the corner of Plainfield AVE NE and 4 Mile RD. Once inside the place has a warm, cozy feel kind of like my mom's place. The pleasant waitress came right over to me and brought me a cold one quick. The menu has a large selection and the prices looked fair. I tried the daily special a sub, went with the sausage sub good choice I checked and the sausage is really made in house. Really good no wonder a friend turned me on to this great spot, The word of mouth doesn't lie once it's ate at Fred's that is! more

This place is the real deal 9/5/2008

This family owned place really makes what they serve in house! The prices are fair and they actually treat their clients as the valued customers they are. How refreshing, some place that wants your business and isn't afraid to show it! Pros: Lots of real "home Made" Italian food with super service Cons: They may have to put an addition on some day more
