Quick and professional service 5/26/2011

We've had various problem with our fridge over the last 2 years, I was immediately worried that I would have to spend alot of money to fix a ""lemon"" and called the closest company to our home despite the negative reviews that I saw on this site from other users about Fred. Contrary to what other people wrote here, I found Fred's staff to be very professional and knowledgeable and able to solve our problem. Initially I met ""Dave"" and he was friendly and efficient. I did have to wait a little over a week for parts but Fred himself arrived on time and completed the job in a matter of under an hour. The great thing was that the parts were covered and the service charge was very reasonable. Plus, I mentioned a problem with our washer and Fred took a look at it and made a minor fix that he didn't charge us for...I've never had someone do anything for us without a charge!!! I will definately do business with this company again and will recommend to everyone in the Western burbs! Thanks Fred! more

Please never call Fred Appliances 4/11/2011

I am very much Disappointed from this company service. How can I recover my money any advice? I wish I could have read these reviews before calling them. more

Rip-off and Scam Artists 8/5/2010

This place is a total rip-off. They came out to my house to service my Fisher Paykel dryer, said it was the board, and never heard from them again. When I called they gave the same answer as posted by everyone else, ""the parts on back order"" and then never called me back. I finally gave up. Some one should report them to the States Attorney's Office as Scam artists. Do not use them!!!!!! If you do , just set fire to your money now, and keep your stress level down! more

I have never been so furious with a repair company in my life! This guy is a scam artist. He comes out,charges you for the service call and then never does the repair. He tells you its on back order and never calls back. I'm taking this guy to small claims court. Everyone who wrote in should do something! more

all parts on backorder?! 7/24/2008

Just to let you know - FRED appliances nothing but trouble. Long story short - 6 months later our microwave is not fixed yet. Parts on back order. Not returned phone calls. Yada yada. Microvawe stopped working on day. Called FRED Appl. Since it's it still was covered under warranty i thought it just gonna be an easy job. Very frustrating when you have to call and remind them about forgoten appointment, not to menitoned taking time off the work. Wouldn't recommend to anybody. more

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE 6/18/2008

Fred's Appliance gave us the most unprofessional service I have ever received! After waiting for months for an ""ordered part"" I gave up and called the manufacturer. I received the parts the next day. And then had to wait for Fred to install. They first came and said it was a two man job. So I had to spend another day waiting for them to come with two men. The two men came (one being Fred, who was very unprofessional) and said they were the wrong parts. They were supposed to contact the manufacturer and get me the correct part and call me back the same day. The call came a day late, the part never came. I called the manufacturer and again the part came the next day. But I had to wait for Fred's to install it. I scheduled TWO appointments. Fred was a NO SHOW BOTH TIMES!!!! I was furious. By now I had figured out to deal with the manufacturer directly. They were very helpful, but could not control Fred. They had another service company come out (National Repair 866-249-5033). They came within days of the call and got the job done quickly and professionally. I have never had an experience so frustrating and Fred's just didn't care at ALL! Stay away from F.R.E.D. 9/13/2007

They spent a total of five mintues looking at my fridge and stated that it needed a new ""mainboard"". It took them two weeks to get the part and when they finally installed the part it didn't fix the problem. The where unwilling to refund all of my money and hung-up on me twice. BEWARE! Cons: Terriable customer service. more
