worst italian restaurant ever. we went for the first time last sunday evening with the family and friends, 8 of us total. apart from my girlfriends and sisters spinach tortellini, the rest of the food was terrible, I had the lobster ravioli, but all i could taste was salt. my brother had the penne with garlic white sauce, and it was 90% sauce, 10% penne. not just that, but the sauce was so thin, it was like water. the waitress noticed we didn't touch our meals and asked if everything was OK, we told them we didn't like our meals as it was untouched, she offered to redo it, but since it took them 50 minutes to bring the food in the first place, we didn't want to wait longer. oh, there's more, they were out of their signature olive bread, but substituted french rolls instead, then charged us (without telling us) then they brought olive bread for another table at the end of our meal. then the manager (i assume, some young hispanic guy with long hair and goatee) gave us the worst attitude when we went to pay the bill. we questioned why they charged us for bread (even though it was only $4, it was the principle) the manager yelled at us to go sit and they'll handle this. so in conclusion, this place is awful, you want good italian food and great italian ambiance, and terrific service, go to VIVOLI CAFE in Hollywood, or Melegrano, or Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock, just don't go to Fratelli's. these alternatives are equally priced but with better food and service. and to be fair, the waitress and guy in white apron were cool, only the manager was a problem.
Pros: good wine selection, no waiting for tables (always empty; should have guessed why)
Cons: no risotto, no bread, pine nuts!, manager's attitude, oh and the food
