Fine Dining Italian 9/25/2006

I came here with a group of about ten, so they put us in the private, retired olive oil factory in the back. Very cool to be surrounded by vintage olive presses. Our waiter (or waiters, there were about 3 of them that kept coming in and out) was helpful, although often disorganized. The wine list was extensive and the food differentiated enough from Italian that I would call it more European Ecclectic than anything else. The tortelini and the carpaccio were excellent, as were the breads and appetizer plates. My boyrfiend's salmon was somewhat bland, however. Overall a pleasant atmosphere and a diverse, creative menu. more

A Marin must try 9/12/2002

A friend took us to Frantoio and we where surprised by the quality of the food, the spacious and clean ambiance and how short a drive it is from the city. (Took us less than 12 minutes to get there). We loved the radicchio-endive salad, the juicy and tender Niman Ranch steak (Only about $ 20!!) and the fresh rare tuna. The chocolate tower is a Marin legend. Service is friendly and accomodating. First class! We'll go back. Pros: Quality food, Spacious bar-lounge, Easy parking Cons: It's in Marin! more

    All dishes are prepared with our own award winning extra virgin olive oil, pressed at the restaurant, and all pastas, pizzas, breads and gelatos are made in house daily.
