This is one of the best places to bring your children! Everything is very interesting and captivating, it makes for a great experience. It can get a little crowded on the weekends so I would suggest trying to get there on a week day. more

dino exhibit too small 2/25/2012

The Franklin institute as a whole is a nice trip. It was very crowded and hard to get a chance to do things. The biggest disappointment was the much hyped dinosaur exhibit was a disappointment. It was way too small. There were 3 anamatronic Dino's and maybe 6-8 skeletons. The sand dig and tracing a picture were the only hands on activities. My advice is too skip it. more

Star Wars Exhibit Final Weekend 5/2/2008

I was really offended that the museum felt it was acceptable to provide visitors to the Star Wars Exhibit's final weekend a 'leftover' experience. While the exhibit itself was as everyone else enjoyed it during its time in Philly, the Star Wars shop was utterly pathetic. The museum WANTED to sell out of everything. Meaning, those of us paying to visit and traveling to visit during the exhibit's final weekend do not get the same experience that those who went early on received. My four year old son was really looking forward to this aspect of the exhibit and because the museum was more concerned with itself than its guests, all he got to see in the shop were a few random pet costumes. We were NOT pleased at all and recommend to anyone wanting the whole experience NOT to go to the museum during an exhibit's final days. more

Where Kids can be Kids 2/28/2004

Great Place. Alot of hands on exhibits to keep you and your children occupied for hours on end. The staff was courteous and helpful when you asked for assistance. Handicap accessible in almost all areas so no one gets left out. The crowds can be overwhelming at times but everyone was calm and polite. We didnt get to see all of the museum but will be back in the near future to see what we missed. Pros: Kid Friendly, Variety, Staff more

justplain fun 11/2/2002

a playground for the brain, what a better place to examine and explore the world of science. this museum has been inspiring children for decades. adding new and interesting exhibits. as the techno world moves forward children need to see and explore it to be able to keep up and adults to try. this museum is the future and the past combined , each adventure there adults and children learn something new and exciting. it takes years to see it all and then its different each time. Pros: interesting, fun, teaching Cons: expensive, parking, exhibits overcrowded more

Great place to take the kids 10/31/2002

The Franklin Institute is good family fun. If you don't mind sleeping on the hard floor, the kids love going to the campins. The Imax theater always has a good selection of movies to choose from as well as the changing exhibits. Pros: membership, campins, imax more

Pros: interactive, child-friendly more

Unattened Policies 8/11/2002

This was an awesome place for me and the kids. We enjoyed the performances in the center lobby and the exhibits. But we unfortunately found out that when we had left and visited this sight to put in our input that we had not payed to get in. And the funny thing was that when i remember that there was no real Employees in the area/exhibits so we were never stopped for tickets. Besides that this place was very nice to visit. more
