Acceptable Forms of ID for Illinois:\r A valid, current driver's license issued by the Illinois Secretary of State's Office or any other State. \r A valid photo identification card issued by the Illinois Secretary of State's Office or any other State. \r Armed Forces Identification \r A valid U.S. passport, or travel visa/passport issued by a foreign country containing the holder's photography. \r \r Gee I do not see any random Drivers license from other countries on that list!\r \r If people would take a moment to do a little research before they start claiming racism/discrimination this would be a better world. \r I thought Doctors were supposed to be smart...\r SHAME on you DOCTOR for even suggesting that Frank's would discriminate against anyone!\r Bars are for fun.\r more

You might want to get your story straight 4/23/2008

give it a rest. The guy from mexico had a mexico ID. NOT A PASSPORT. He didn't use the correct word. Passports are a legal form of ID everyone knows that including the doormen. more

Sounds very bad-No foreign passoports at the door-Frank's on Clark Chicago! 4/22/2008

This sounds pretty bad to me. I am from Italy and if I go there with my Italian Passport, you are going to tell me , go away!\r The lady at the bar says, No Discrimination...but also says ..we don't accept any documentation from other countries. What is that???\r Then, You can travel around the world, take a plane, enter into the US, with your passport, but NO entry to \r Frank's on Clark in Chicago for a beer.\r Well, to all you IMMIGRANTS with passports. There are alot of good bars in Chicago that don't have this policy. Pros: location Cons: No passports allowed from other countries more

Rude Doorman!!! Bad attitude 4/21/2008

So I was reading the reviews about the Passport. That IS discrimination if you don't accept a passport from another country. Obviously the passport is proof of age and tells the dummy at the door how old you are!!\r That's if he can read!!! How ridiculous! How absurd!!!\r I recommend that you double check that LAW because that is completely untrue, so if you don't know how to interpret the law, better make a call to someone can explain it to you. My husband is an immigration atty and he said that is complete BS. \r I have alot of friends visiting from other countries and I think I'll pass on Frank's.\r Cons: Discrimination at the door, Doorman with bad manners more

no discrimination ever took place 4/18/2008

I was at the bar when the young man was denied entrance. With all the new rules with carding for the bars you need to have a passport or a us id. They can't take anything from out of the country for identification. I am sure the doctor would understand if HIS behind was on the line. Bars can be shut down if they let a underage person in at the door. It is hard to file a discrimination suit against a bar that, in the same moment you where denied, let someone in from Spain. Next time bring your passport like everybody else does. I know for a fact nobody in Franks cares where you are from. You just have to be 21. Pros: friendly staff, Franks is a great local place more

Discrimination at the door-NO MEXICAN PASSPORTS ALLOWED!! 4/16/2008

I am a doctor visiting Chicago from Mexico and I was told at the door by the doorman that passports from Mexico are not acceptable for documentation, so I was declined entry into Franks.\r My friend from Spain was allowed entrance with his documentation. If I had the time and wanted to do so, I would file a discrimination , but since I'm only visiting I won't bother.\r I was with 4 friends who witnessed this. I was there on April 15, 2008. So anyone viisting Chicago from another country, don't waste your time going to Franks, because you may be declined entry.\r \r Only ID's from the USA! Ignorance in the USA. Pros: discrimination Cons: location more

Ripped me off... watch your wallet at the door 6/9/2007

I have been to Franks on nights when there was no cover for the last year without issue and the place is fine. Watch out on Sat nights, though, as they charge cover at the door and they will rip you off in a heart beat. I was entertaining friends from out of town and paid cover for them at the door only to realize that they charged my friends after I walked into the bar. After realizing they double charged us, I approached the guys at the door and they refused to correct the issue. It is okay to make a mistake but it is a sign of bad management when they won't correct a mistake. It suggests that they expect anyone showing up at 2 am to be drunk to the point that they won't realize the mistake. Watch your wallets... Pros: One of the few places open til 4 am in that area on Clark Cons: Not a great value and they will rip you off if you are drunk more

Great place to meet people 10/29/2006

I went to Franks on Wednesday night after work. It was so fun. Who doesn't like free chips and salsa from Angela's and Margarita's for half the price. My friends and I had a great time. Who new the owner was so hot! I hope to run into him again soon............ Pros: Margarita special on Wednesdays and the Martinis are really yummy Cons: Waking up the next morning after a late night more
