This one-man bakery sits on the corner of a strip mall about a mile south of downtown Carmel. It is worth driving to just for the Bear Claws. No, it's worth walking to just for the Bear Claws. They are that good. If I lived in the area I would eat one every morning with a cup of the wonderful coffee that is served there. And by the way, they make the best sandwiches in (or out of) town too. I live in Georgia and have planned my California itinerary just to be here for the morning pastries.
Pros: The best bear claws in the world. Great coffee too.
Cons: It's on the other side of the country for me.
