411 does well for what is truly is: a trendy trattoria that can continue to siphon money from college kids trying to impress semi-formal dates. More creative offerings are available up and down Franklin St., however, if it lost it's attitude 411 could be an everyday decent place to grab a drink or some pasta. My favorite 6/14/2002

Calling 411 an Italian restaurant is a little misleading; I think Mediterranean fits it better. I've been going to 411 for 8 years and it's still the best all round restaurant in Chapel Hill. It's a beautiful place, and the selection of foods is fantastic. You can get great salads (try the Stella's!), seafood, beef, pastas, and the best pizza in town. There's a reason this place won ""Best Restaurant in Chapel Hill"" in a local magazine's consumer poll three years in a row. Check it out! Cons: parking availability more

411 West continues to be the best value and most interesting place to dine in Chapel Hill. I suspect that jealous competitors are posting negative reviews to mislead the dining public, but go see for yourself. The specials are always great and the regular menu is one of the most varied in the Triangle. And the atmosphere can't be touched. It would be nice if they got cloth napkins, but that would probably mean an increase in prices, so who needs it? This place is terrific! Pros: Atmosphere, Value Cons: Parking more

411 still serves some of the best Italian food on Franklin Street. Plan to wiat in line in because there usually is one. 518 in Raliegh is just as good and larger. Highly recommend this great restaurant. more
