Fort Rapids WaterPark

We got a jacuzzi room here. The first one had no air conditioning, no hair dryer, no coffee maker, and no ice bucket. We were told maintenance would fix it. We come back to the room after swimming to hot air coming out of the vents...called front desk. Got moved to another room. We left the door open in the first room incase we forgot something. (Had to turn keys in) got keys for new room- they didn't work. Decided to go eat in their restaurant, I ordered ribs, my fiance ordered beef brisket. They didn't have either. Hotel impossible needs to help them badly. The rooms were dirty and employees walk in on you when your naked.....front desk doesn't care and I could swear they are attorneys and not customer service reps. All they did was debate and defend this kind of service. It's cheaper to go to zoombezi bay or travel to kings island/cedar point where customer service and hotels are better. more

Last minute decided to getaway for Labor Day Weekend. Searched the internet and came across Fort Rapids Waterpark. Decided to surprise our 13 & 16 yr old with a mystery trip. Called the resort to make reservations, fantastic deal on loft room, which included many extras, because it was "Customer Appreciation Weekend". Enjoyed a Hoe Down supper, putt putt golf, arcade and of course the waterpark!! Had a great time doing all the water slides, playing pool basketball, floating on the lazy river, relaxing in the hot tub and the water obstacle course. The complete staff, lifeguards, and cleaning people were very accommodating to our needs!! We were so impressed by everything that before we left we booked another weekend in September to take our 4 & 6 year old grandchildren back!! This resort is great for all ages!! more

We had a blast this past weekend at Fort Rapids. I had read so many reviews that the hotel was outdated and the service was terrible and I have to strongly disagree. There were a few scuff marks on our room door...but seriously? does really affect your sleep or ruin your vacation?? The room was clean the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The water park was outstanding, no long lines and everything was clean. We bought 2 packages, the staycation which gave us a free pizza and drinks(the pizza was average at best but it was free so that helped the taste) and we got $20 in tokens for the game room and a bag of dirt to pan for gems. The other package was the wild lights at the columbus zoo,which gave us 4 tickets to the zoo, which was awesome!! I have been to bigger and better indoor waterparks but this one was just fine and we would go again in a heartbeat. Sometimes I think if some people see a corner of the wall paper sticking up a 1/4 of and inch they consider the place outdated and a dump. I look for a clean safe place for my family and Fort Rapids was certainly that. more

Our stay around December 10th included the breakfast with Santa and we were very happy. We understood the Santa had to arrive a little late, but he was excellent with all the children and very jovial. Our entire stay was above average and anything we asked of the staff was handled with speed and great customer service. The kids LOVED the waterpark and arcade and are already asking us to return. more

Fort Rapids is great. I have been to Fort Rapids several times and have never encountered nothing that the negative reviews that are posted here says. People who have enough time to try to pick out all of the negative and never list the positive things really make it hard for people who want to visit the resort for the first time. My family & i always have a great time everytime that we go and quite honestly i can't wait for the summer so that we can return. We go every year twice a year and that has been for the last 2 years. My kids always have a great time and really that is all that matters, after all it is a family place. For those people who want to visit Fort Rapids I highly recommend it after all it is adults that post these negative remarks I am sure that their children wouldn't agree. As a mother of 2 I give Fort Rapids 2 thumbs up!!! more

This was our second trip to the resort our first was just two weeks ago. We had an exceptionally wonderful time. The staff are extremely courteous and overall just friendly people. Let me tell you, If I would have had to endure some of the abusive language that these staff members had to put up with from some rude guest members....I do not believe I could be that patient or kind. Overall, what I witnessed was staff doing there job and trying to lookout for safety of the guests overall. Wonderful place, and we live about 3 hours away. You cannot beat the deals that they offer for families and in this economic hard times we all need a real good deal. I will certainly go back and will recommend as I have to my friends. more

We arrived Saturday at 1:00 to start enjoying the waterpark. The waterpark was super packed but the lines were not long for the rides. My kids (both under 10) had an absolute blast. They did not want to leave on Sunday! I never went into the locker rooms - I just used the family changing rooms which were always avaibable without much wait. Check in at 4:00 was a super long line. Went back at 4:45 and got straight in with my package. Nicki was an excellent manager who checked us in and made sure our kids were signed up for the Kids Club (free tokens for game room - 20!) The rooms weren't super special, but they were CLEAN and BUG FREE. My friend and her family were with us and we did a thorough inspection due to the negative reviews. I will say we stayed the same weekend as the Arnold Classic and the place was full of teenagers (my kids loved that)! Anyway - if you can get a good deal on the place with the waterpark passes then DO IT!!! The kids will love you for it. Water in the park was just what I expected as far as temp and the temp of the waterpark's air was great. All in all - most places like this will have a bunch of crazies running around anyway. I would go back again for the same deal we received and booked for this past trip. The staff really does try. I am sure if we would have visited on a weekend that was the arnold classic - we would have had less people - but again, my kids are STILL talking about what a great time they had! more

Me and my family picked this place after a friend told me about it. The place is very nice not in the ghetto. All the staff were very nice and helpful!!!! I got very nervous after reading all the negative reviews but we had heard many good things from our friends. My husband had just got back from overseas with the military and just wanted to do a weekend thing. There is different things for all ages. We have 3 kids ages 8,9 and 11 and all had very good time!!!!!!!!!!!!Even the parents !!!!!!!!!!I would def go again. I can't beleive all the bad things being said about this place. Very good weekend thing!!!!!!!!!!! more

My family had the best time at this hotel. they had everything to keep you busy rain or shine! my son enjoyed the indoor water park while me and my husband ate dinner at one of the restauraunts located inside the hotel, the only thing i would do is place it in an easier to find location BUT that would not deter me from going their again, GREAT IDEA to put a water park in the hotel more

The staff at Ft. Rapids did an outstanding job for our annual conference. It was nice having the management staff and chef take such an active part to insure the conference was a success. The guest room rates were affordable, free parking - not the case for most conference centers around downtwon Columbus, free internet, and the food received favorable reviews from conference participants. more

Great stay at the resort! Waterpark was perfect for my 5 year old and I felt comfortable with my infant too. Much more clean that we expected...always tough when you have a bunch of kids running around. Staff could not have been sweeter and they even went out of their way to help us with a missing bag. We found it exactly where we left it! more

My wife showed me the reviews after we booked the trip. We wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the older reviews. They must have made changes because we enjoyed the whole experience. The staff was very nice, the rooms were very clean, and the food was great. My kids are asking when we can go back. Don't believe all the reviews. more

We stayed at Fort Rapids on Dec,13, with 30 family Members. Best time ever!!! We stayed in their villas which offered sleeping for 10, 4 tvs, 3 baths, fireplace, and a dryer for bathings suits. It was clean and spacious and so much more than I expected. The service in the restaraunt was excellent. All 30 of us sat together for dinner and breakfast and it was perfect. Everyone had a ball at the waterpark, it was clean, well supervised and the perfect tempature. I thought this trip was for the kids but I have a lot of pictures of some happy adults racing down the water slides They have an awesome arcade and do so much for the kids. There was kiddie karaoke, dance lessons, breakfast with Santa Clause, Stories in front of the fireplace with Mrs. Clause, art tables for the kids and so much more. We are making it a new family tradition and I would like to thank all the employees from the hotel to the waterpark to the restaurant and bar for a job well done and an experience that will long be remembered. more
