I went to the store today to try on bridesmaid dresses after having lunch in WGV with the Bride. She is allowing us to pick our own dresses as long as they are light purple and chiffon, however her opinion matters to me so I brought her with me. \r

Now I understand that I am not the smallest person in the world, I typically wear a clothes ranging from 12-16 depending on the item (we all know that clothes run funny these days), and at David's bridal I have ordered dresses recently for other weddings that range in size from14-18 because their sizes run small for some dresses and normal for others. Because I am not a tiny woman I am hesitant to try on smaller sizes so when I shop I only look for dresses that are in the 12-14 range in the style I like. At least this way I know that I might not be able to zip them, however I should at least put them on and get a general idea of fit. \r

Usually bridal store have some sort of clip in the fitting rooms so you can clip the dresses together as if they are zipped so you can see how they should fit, or cinch them if they are too large, however apparently this was not an option for me today. So once I picked a few dresses the woman helping me walked me into the fitting room. She then proceeded to HOLD THEM UP TO ME. This is NOT what I consider ""trying something on."" I was then told that I could just order a dress in my size, however I would obviously be made to pay for said dress if it was ordered. I don't know about you, but I would NEVER order a $200+ dress that is likely non returnable, because often times bridesmaids dresses are not, without even being allow to try and try it on. \r

If this wasn’t bad enough she also kept saying ""well you obviously can not try these dresses on because we don't carry your size here."" So basically I was being told that I was too fat to shop at the store, and that I might ruin the precious goods in the store. The tone in which she made these comments was completely offensive and not necessary. The small amount of effort it would take to allow me to try on these designer dresses was clearly too much to handle for your associate. I was horrified and beyond offended by this service experience, as was the bride who was with me who wears the same size as me. She was planning to have the other 2 girls in the bridal party come to this store as well because we loved the selection you had online, however this will no longer be the case. \r

I have worked in customer service based positions for most of my life and I have never experienced anything like this! It was so similar to the scene from Pretty Woman (only weight was the issue rather than money) I thought it was a joke. However when I realized I was seriously not going to be allowed to try anything on I was so disappointed by this experience all I could do was walk out of the store. This type of service is not acceptable in any capacity, and I hope you do not treat all your customers who are not the perfect sample size this way. I can understand not wanting a size 14 girl to attempt to squeeze herself into a size 4 because obviously that would damage the dress, however making me feel as though I was too fat to even be allowed to use the fitting room for it's intended purpose was seriously disturbing. \r
