Editorial review from Citysearch 6/4/2013

The previous reviews are not current and are isolated incidents. There isn't one person who manages each unit. There are people who own and live in their units and people who rent out the unit(s) they own. Unfortunately there is one particular person who owns many of the units who (according to some of their former tenants) does not manage and maintain their particular units very well. This does not mean that the other unit owners you may rent from are not good, reliable owners. \r \r As far as complaints for receiving fines, there is a condo association handbook with rules to follow such as, Picking up after your dog or noise violations. If these were not in place, people would take advantage of things and it would cause unhappy neighbors. Makes sense that one would get fined for not picking up after their dog or for getting warned a few times for excessive noise. Overall, this is a pleasant place to live and it is a quiet, well-maintained property. \r \r Unfortunately some former unhappy tenants have put out these bad reviews about the complex (and their particular landlord) which in turn gives the place a bad name. more

Forest Trails in Willow Springs 5/4/2010

I lived in the 200 building for the last 4 years and just moved out this past January for constant maintenance problems. The new owner or president of the association is also the majority owner of condos there and is a slumlord. it takes forever to get someone to come out to fix things and she uses extremely poor companies that i wouldnt trust to ebnter my house. EVERY TIME!!! When I moved out, I gave written as well as verbal (by phone) notice with my October rent and moved out when my lease was up, 3 months later on January 1st. I was never late on rent, in fact I was consistantly early (around the 20th) every month. I cleaned the condo head to toe and even shampooed and vaccumed the carpet. I used spackle to fill the holes in the walls caused by hanging pictures, readying a painter to come and turn the apartment. For the past 4 months I have been calling her and leaving messages about returning my security deposit. Before I left, the grounds maintenance man even told me not to pay the last months rent because she was notorious for keeping them. I dont operate that way though. I am a fair and honest person unlike my former landlord who wont return my phone calls. I have to sue her now and finding her home address to serve her papers has been a challenge to say the least. She only provides a P.O. Box on your lease. This is a nightmare I wouldnt wish on anyone. Pros: relatively cheap rent Cons: maintenance, no security deposit returned more

Is the year 2009 or 1960??? 8/10/2009

Would give it zero stars, but this site does not allow a zero star rating.\r \r Don't let the outside fool you. \r Many of the people that live here and run this complex are not ""welcoming"" to people that are not like them; be it age, race, socioeconomic status, familial status, etc... \r Be careful if you are a member of a different ""class"" and are thinking about living here!!!!! Cons: Unfair, ignorant, biased Board Members more

Ver y disappointing and deceiving 4/15/2009

Well, when we moved in, several people said, ""good luck"" in that sarcastic tone. We should have known right then. We've been renting for about a year and it looked really nice at first. Then we started noticing things, like our plumbing was awful and leaked water in the bathroom whenever you ran the shower. The closets would not close and the door actually fell on me, a couple of times. They painted over the outlets, which looked awful. The handle came off of our patio door, so we had to fix that. The sink handle came off. Our refridgerator is so small, you can't fit anything in it. There is no outlet in the bathroom. Etc., etc., etc., It may be different if your buying it as a condo, but as a renter, this place is awful. Not to mention that they post any apartment that has gotten fine, right there in the lobby. We have never gotten fine, yet, knock on wood. But how stupid. These people need a life, they should pay attention to the construction/maintenance of these places and less on whether somone took their laundry it out within three minutes of the washer being done! Pros: forest preserve view Cons: plumbing, cheap material, complicated rule book, etc. more

Forest Trails Condo 9/30/2008

I lived at Forest Trails Condo and loved it. The people were friendly and the condo was quiet. I also had a small dog which they accept. It was easy access to 294,355,83 and Indiana Toll. The other thing I loved was you looked out at the Forest Preserve. They have a pool that all renters can use. Great Place to Live. Pros: Lots of Parking, looks out at Forest Preserve, Pool more

Disappointing place to live 4/9/2006

I have lived in one of these condos for almost a year and I am extremely disappointed on how this property is managed. I receive warning letters for the most ridiculous ""violations"" and it is a complete headache, not to mention the monetary damage for the constant fines. These people need to get some real problems and leave the residents alone!! Pros: location Cons: poor board members, bad management more
