Forest Hill Nursery School

I had reservations about sending my child to any preschool. He has some eating abnormalities and we were worried about how he would be viewed. FHNS welcomed us with open arms. He made great friends that will hopefully last for many years to come. Our teacher takes into account each child's strengths and weaknesses and works with them. I felt that the teaching and subjects were age appropriate without being ""all academic"". They learn much more then just subjects; they learn how to be great students. more

Wow! What an awesome pre-school experience both of my children have had at FHNS. We have been with the school for 4 years now and have loved every moment. The teachers are highly educated both with Early Childhood degrees. They are so loving and make you feel like you are a part of their classroom when volunteering. They make learning FUN for the children. Yes, there are other duties required for being part of a co-op but it makes it all worth it. Tuition, fundraising and volunteering makes the school run smoothly. The school has been around for 30 years so it must be doing something right. I love being a part of my childrens' education. This is my child's first year attending Forest Hill Nursery School. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing her in action in the classroom and she really looks forward to the days that I volunteer. I have been so impressed with the way the students follow the routines and move fluidly between the different center activities in the classroom. I have also been impressed with the hands-on homework assignments. For each letter and accompanying sound the children learn, they have to collect items around the house beginning with that sound to take into school to share with their classmates. What a meaningful assignment! It has helped my daughter make connections to so many items and their beginning sounds around our house. My daughter adores her teacher and can't wait to go to school each day. Pros: Wonderful, new, clean, facility more

Teachers are wonderful, good-hearted, fair, and evenly tempered. Only have to co-op 1 to 3 times per month. Co-op is great because you get to see what your child is doing. Homework at most once per week for 4 year olds and not very time consuming, maybe 10 minutes. Program uses similar activities as kindergarten to help the kids prepare for next year. Children learn how to follow directions, share, make good choices. Also they learn writing, reading, and yes even math skills. Environment is warm and friendly. The only negative I can think of is that besides tuition, there are a lot of other costs that come up each month like field trips, parties, and fund raisers. Also if you don't like cleaning you may not like the fact that the helping parent is expected to ""house"" clean after class has ended. But it is all well worth it to see your child enjoying school and learning so much while doing so! I plan on sending my other children there too! more

My son Andrew is in the 3 year old program 2 days a week, he has made fantastic progress. The 3 and 4 year old teachers are highly educated, the children are always making educational art pieces, learning manners,being taught how to use their helping hands, being kind to others, learning numbers, and the alphabet. I am very pleased with the program at FHNS and highly recommend it. Pros: Easy parking, accomadating with the class, easy to talk to the other parents more

We love this school! The teachers are great, and I'm so happy with the co-op experience of being able to be in the classroom with my child. more

Our daughter has attended this preschool for both pre-K3 and pre-K4, and we couldn't be happier. Her progress has been unbelievable. The teachers are exceptional and provide such a nurturing and highly educational environment. I would definitely recommend this preschool over any other! It has been in business for over thirty years, so they defintely ""know their stuff"". Pros: Everything! more
