If there is one place where I DON'T want to buy groceries, it would definitely be Food Lion. Sure, they may say that their prices are great, but trust me, they aren't. Seriously, you would have a better chance of finding fresh food at a sporting goods store. Buying the packaged stuff is okay, but buying stuff from the produce or deli section, no way. Basically what I'm saying is if you want fresh food, stay away from Food Lion. more

A dump 4/8/2006

This place is a total dump. Every time that I have been in there it has been disgusting. There is always stuff spilled on the floor and flies in the air. It just has a general feeling of uncleanliness. I would not buy anything from this grocery. I have bought beer here but that is all. more

I personally do not like Food Lion. I think that while their prices may be cheaper than some of the other grocery stores in the area I think you get what you pay for. Whenever I have been into Food Lion it has seemed very dirty and gross. I have occasionally bought things there but I would never buy anything from the deli or produce sections. I would not trust the cleanliness of these products. I would recommend shopping elsewhere if quality of goods are a priority. more

FoodLion is a grocery, not a restaurant. It's located on one of the busiest shopping roads in Winston Salem. Food Lion has store brands that are cheap, such as creamer, cheese and most canned goods. Food Lion is a well arranged grocery store with a good reputation. This place has a huge parking lot serving several stores. It's not a place you want to go on a Saturday when all the shoppers are out in force, nor do you want to go there during rush hour; get there during the day when the rest of the world is working. The fresh produce tends to cost more than other ordinary grocery stores. more
