This place is amazing. I went in with a ton of questions about my dogs food and I got REAL answers. The gal who runs the place (not sure if she is the owner or not) was super helpful. She didn't try to sell me what she feeds her pets or what makes them the most money. She told me about several foods that had what my dogs needed and helped me to make an informed choice. She was very helpful and fun to talk to. I could tell she knew what she was doing and saying. She even told me how to store my food and save on feeding costs.\r \r She even carried my food out to my car and gave my doggies a treat, They loved her too.\r \r This is a great place and you can be sure I will be back as well as tell all my friends about this place. It seems like East Sac is getting classier and classier. I was wondering the neighborhood around 47&J when I happened into The Pet Department store. Being a pet owner I was thrilled to see the amazing selection of pet supplies from toys to gourmet foods. The staff was very helpful with my dozens of questions about the differences in their all natural foods with the ones that I have seen at the super market marked ""All Natural"". Apparently there is no comparison. After being enlightened to the world of proper pet nutrition, the friendly staff was able to help me find the right food for my doggie Klover. I would definable recommend The Pet Department Store to any one who either has a pet or is looking to own one. more

I found the Pet Department Store while looking for grain-free dry food for my cats. Western Feed was hit-or-miss with the brands I wanted and their prices were all over the place. Pet Dept. Store always has what I need in stock, their prices are very fair and consistent, and they carry a wide variety of brands, flavors, etc. When a new wet, grain-free food was introduced, they ordered it for me right away and called me when it came in - now that's good customer service!! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, going out of their way to assist you with your animal companion's needs. Highly, highly recommended!! I started shopping at this store after reading about and experiencing first-hand the bait-and-switch pricing of western feed. I love the selection at pet department store. As an overly-concerned pet owner, I am well-versed in pet nutrition and look for pet stores to offer a helpful, experienced staff that can teach me a few things. I found it when I first stopped by pet department store and have been a customer ever since.\r \r p.s. The gal that manages this store needs to learn about customer service. She has a major attitude. I wouldn't recommend this store at all. They also seem to push products that you don't want. I got the feeling that they wanted me to buy things they made the most money on. Stay away from this store if you love your pet.
