Worst Customer Service 7/11/2011

Flavors has decent food, though it is usually stale, and on top of that, the owner is awful.. He's got an attitude for no reason and the customer service is really pathetic .. They do not care about their customers or clients... The owner is very disrespectful and blunt to talk to... We had a birthday party organized there, and trust me the party was awesome, but the service provided by flavors was pathetic... they are not willing to help out .. they didn't even bother cleaning the place or changing the table sheets before the party started.. awful... Now only i could give no stars to this restaurant since they are not worth even a single star..... Never will I go here again... more

Great buffet 4/28/2011

I am just a good ole girl who has fallen in LOVE with Indian food. Flavors is close to my job and I have become a regular there in the past year. I think they have a fabulous weekday buffet. Certain items are always featured, (Saag panneer, chicken 65, tandoor chicken), and the rest of the buffet is filled out by rotating items. Since I really like trying new things, this suits me well. My lunch hour is dependent on my workload, so I have been the first person in the door, and also come in so late I was afraid the line would be shut down. I have eaten here at least once a week for the last year. I have never received or witnessed rude behavior. I usually drink water, and my glass is never empty. They also have a free soda fountain - but you are expected to get your own refills there. It is a buffet, so I am not sure what kind of service the other reviewers expected. I can't say that the manager/owner(?) is the friendliest host - he doesn't gush all over me when I come in - but who wants that anyway? I want a clean restaurant with good food, vast quantities of beverage, and timely delivery of my check. They deliver on my requirements. I deducted one star because I have never been here on a weekend, or for dinner, or with children, or used the party room. I have seen the restaurant quite busy, but have never witnessed (or heard) any meltdowns by the staff. The bathroom is always clean. The food is good. Don't let the bad reviews scare you. Try it, you might like it. more

EVERYONE IS RIGHT ABOUT THE MOST HATEFUL OWNER 4/21/2011

If I could give it NO STARS, I would. I had planned an event here for the end of this month. And even though I knew the place was often very hot inside and the food was mediocre and would sit for hours and hours toward the end of the buffet, I still decided on this place because it was usually pretty slow and I needed to hold a one hour presentation in a peaceful setting where the agents could hear the speaker. The owner said he would accommodate 10-20 people with appetizers (at full price) and it was a centrally located venue so I was set. I had the flyers printed (90 of them at .59 each), passed them out at different broker shops in DFW for two weeks, sent email blasts, confirmed guests and then BAM. Everything fell apart when the owner went nuts. I brought 10 flyers to the restaurant yesterday (because he told me I could set them there) and once he saw we were charging $15 per person for the event, he immediately said he wanted me to pay him $350 or we couldnt come. I was shocked. Mind you, I dont even LOVE this place to begin with and now this guy is going crazy! AND ive done all of the leg work to get people there! (and i explained to him as i had before that the would be professionals from all over DFW coming so he would be getting new business out of this) AND we are one week from my event. I was appalled. I explained to him (and showed him) that when I had first come in, i had written down every single thing we discussed. (He handed me the pen!!) He had told me the number of people was fine. he had told me exactly what food to order and told me when to call in and confirm the food menu. He even had my date circled on his calendar on the wall. (Go look, its still up) He said he didnt care! I explained that the money was not going to me at all (it isnt) and that it was going to the speaker but he wouldn't budge. I was almost in tears and then things really went bad. He started screaming at me to get out of his restaurant. He came from around the counter and was yelling obscenities and told me to leave. The way he acted blows my mind. Oh and in the middle of all of this, one of my clients (and a good friend) calls and I set the phone down so he can hear all of this. He was shocked as well. There was no provocation, nothing. I think he just saw that we were charging for the event (because we HAD to and not because we wanted to) and wanted the money. i will never never never come here again. And I encourage you not to either. Besides, the food is a MILLION times better at Saffron House. =) Oh and just so you know, when I first got there (at 3pm) they were cleaning up from lunch buffet and I asked him what do they do with all of the leftover food from the buffet and he said they serve it at DINNER. Im so serious. more

Terrible Service 7/19/2010

I have never been to a restaurant where a 1 year old and a 3 year old were charged 1/2 price, just cos they ate off their own plates. The Gentleman in-charge was very disrespectful and does seem to dislike kids. Oh well, if you could care less about how you are treated, then you should be ok. Pros: Decent Food Cons: Terrible Service more

Best Restaurant Yet! 4/3/2010

Flavors is great. I strongly disagree with all the other posts, saying that the manager is rude. I personal LOVE flavors and the management . After eating here I have never stepped foot an another Indian restaurant in Dallas. There lunch buffet is sooo large. and there dinner menu is different from any other restaurant. Flavors is the best restaurant in town and if you are thinking about eating Indian food you should definitely go to Flavors. Pros: service-great, food amazing, environment phenomenal Cons: NONE! more

Horrible behavior and attitude ---Never again. 8/11/2008

The manager has a horrible attitude. He seems to have never heard the term ""Customer Service"". So much so that he could not handle even a slight issue with us and started screaming and calling names and ask us to get out. Pros: Food is okay but is irrelevant due to horrible service and attitude Cons: Staff attitude. Warm Temperature more

Ridiculous Customer Service and management 6/19/2008

The ambiance is good. The food is also decent but the management and the manager are extremely bad. In fact the manager is one of the most rude managers I have seen in my entire life. We had arranged for a party and were assured of a few things while we spoke to the manager on the phone. In fact while speaking over the phone about the order also the manager was very non co-operative. And once we were there at the restaurant, we were assured a separate corner of the restaurant but were not given one. He had arranged two distinct tables for us and was very ignorant when we tried telling him to join them together atleast. Also while serving food he pushed us to get things before the appropriate time and had to be otherwise reminded several times about the things required on the table. When mentioned these things, he was very rude to one of our guests and retorted back with insulting language. The final worst part was a huge quarrel that he and his wife took up with us which converted into a literal pulling of collars by him at some of our friends who tried just telling him that the bill amount was more than promised. To top it all, we were literally pushed out of the place and told never to come back again. Pros: Ambience, Food Cons: Management and Service more

Combination of north+south indian food 4/5/2008

I agree with other review that the ambience is quite gud but the management is rude. more

Really bad service 2/23/2008

The ambience is fairly nice but the manager is extremely rude and curt. Terrible service....definitely would not recommend this place . They have a nice party room but even there the service was really bad... very slack in service ...they had to be constantly reminded to fill the food trays. The bar person would disappear constantly even tho' we had been guaranteed that he would be there constantly throughout the party hours !!! Once when we had to remind the manager to do something he was extremely rude and abrasive . I cannot see how the manager can afford to be so rude in a customer oriented business. Pros: Ambience is good Cons: manager has really bad attitude and is very rude.. more
