My dog's problem started with swelling in her eye. I took her to the CVS ER three times over 1 1/2 weeks as her condition deteriorated. The 3rd time, I had to carry her in, they kept her and decided they were going give an MRI the following morning. In none of the visits was her blood count tested. I'm not a vet, but I know that is one test given early to check for infection. I have family members who are vets and when I told them she was getting the MRI with still no blood work, they suggest taking her to NCSU. I pulled her out the next morning and rushed her to State. She had severe inflammation in the lining of her brain and muscles surrounding her eye. She was diagnosed with Auto Immune disease also and I spent many weeks trying to keep her alive. I am not saying CVS killed my dog, but I certainly lost valuable time when a routine test could have shown a high rate of infection. There are good doctors at this hospital. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience and will not go back.
