All things considered...good. 10/7/2006

Small class size is the greatest aspect of Flagler College. It is no lie that the professors will know student's names and expect a level of interaction with students that will be crucial to their grades. Class sizes average around 20, fostering a very open learning atmosphere. There is always time to ask questions. Living on campus was not the nicest experience as there were no comfortable common areas, and the student lounge was either converted into an art gallery or was closed, or was open but the equipment for the pool table would be locked up, or the girl hired to keep an eye on the lounge would reserve the only TV for her friends. The only common areas, (the only areas where boys could hang out with girls on this no-inter dorm campus) were usually filthy and furnished with broken TVs and stained, broken furniture. The construction of the student center will hopefully remedy these situations for prospective students and the College is wonderful if one is living off campus and doesn't have to deal with the lack of social areas and hot water. Security is also rather ineffective. Flagler's standards are also lower than they should be, which is evident in the SAT scores of incoming students and misspellings in the school newspaper. A beautiful school with so many majors and talented professors could stand to be a bit more stringent. more

Great private college 10/6/2005

I went to Flagler College for my freshman year of college, and I loved my college experience there. I stayed in a dorm. Flagler has nice dorms, and tries to match you up with people compatible. I know people who had bad roommate experiences, but my roommate and I got along great. It is a very small school, only about 2000 students, so this was also a nice factor to Flagler. It has some great teachers (and some not so great ones, as every college has), and of the 3 colleges I have attended Flagler is the only one where I not only met with an advisor, but knew who he was. The fact that it is such a small school really allows your teachers to educate the best way. It has a great library, and it is the most beautiful school that I have ever seen. It is a safe area, and Flagler has great activities on campus. I loved the year that I went to Flagler, and it was a very affordable college for being a private college. more
