From the time we arrived at the boat until the time we departed, it was a fun filled day. We started the trip bait fishing which was successful, and then proceeded to the wreck. Within minutes of bait in the water - we hooked up a black grouper. After that we hooked 5 Amaco Jacks, a couple of snapper, a 20 lb dolphin and finished the day with a sailfish. Our mate Bobby was very good at assisting us with our catch - from the time we hooked up until we had the fish in the boat.\r \r Captain Rod is a seasoned captain from Ft Lauderdale and did a great job putting us on the fish. From bottom fishing - to trolling - to live baiting. He definately knows the waters.\r \r We are all lady anglers who have fished a lot - but this was one day we will not forget. I can highly recommend Fishing Headquarters if you want to experience a great day on the waters of Fort Lauderdale. Definitely a ""to do"" when you are in the area. Whether you have a half day or a full day to fish - it's worth the trip! more

I first moved to Florida 3 1/2 years ago. I was looking for a fishing boat to go on. I went on a couple and didn't like service, attitude and/or general feeling of comfort.. UNTIL I found Fishing Headquarters.\r \r I was greeted by the office attendant very nicely. Went out fishing and was comfortable the entire trip. I felt safe. I started going out with them every week, and got to know everybody from the owner to the mates. I also started making friends on the boat. I also bring friends to fish with me.\r \r We all know that you aren't going to catch a fish every time you go out, but I can say that even when the fish aren't biting, there is always a good time and some laughs in store.\r \r It is now 3 1/2 years later, and I wouldn't even think of going on another local boat.\r \r Why do I keep going back? Because the people that work for fishing headquarters are genuine down to earth family friendly people who LOOK for fish, and WANT you to catch fish, and will HELP kids catch fish. But most of all, they treat me and other customers with respect.\r \r Whether you are looking for drift fishing, night time anchored fishing or sports fishing, Fishing Headquarters is the place to go. more

Just got back from my trip to Fort Lauderdale and I felt compelled to write about what an awesome experience I had with Fishing Headquarters. I chartered the 'Big Game' for a private charter for me and my son. The crew was excellent. They explained everything on the way out to the grounds and they were really great with my son. We caught 2 sharks on our trip, a 9'hammerhead and a 5' silkee shark. After my son and I each caught a big shark, the crew continued to fish hard. We went bottom fishing and caught many small snappers (which we ate for dinner that night) and one big amaco jack which was over 3' long. The crew even stayed out an extra hour with us and we caught a 42"" barracuda at the end of the trip, topping off an outstanding fishing trip. I highly recommend captain Rod and I will be back to fish with these guys next year. more

Went fishing with Captain Vic and Greg and they were as attentive as could be. Took us to a reef and everyone caught mostly snapper--fun! Greg kept us all baited and guided me when I caught a 12 lb dolphin (mahi mahi). Capt. Vic cleaned it or us and told us about a walking distance restaurant that would cook it up for us. Wonderful dinner. Don't listen to the negative comments. For $35 you have a great tour of yachts and mansions plus good fishing. They do a completely voluntary pot for biggest fish which is fun, too. more

we fished with Capt. Rod and Kevin on the afternoon sportfishing trip. There was 6 people on the boat and we had a blast. The crew was great and moved fast to change bait/lures/techniques resulting in many fish caught. We took home about 7lbs of filets & enjoyed it immensely. The crew was very friendly & cleaned our fish. In addition, the crew was very patient with a child who was annoying & they were great about explaining what they were doing and why...results great dinner!! Thanks guys we will be back!! more

They explained the game plan and what types of fish we could expect to catch this time of year. We caught a couple King Mackerel. They made for some awesome smoked fish!\r \r I'd go back out with them again. more

We were scheduled to go on a drift fishing trip on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. When we arrived @ Fishing Headquarters, they said that one of their deep sea fishing charters was not fully booked and that they would rather send that boat out full. They gave us an AMAZING deal for a 4 hour deep sea fishing trip. Both Captain John and the mate, Robert, were absolutely amazing! They were both very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I caught a HUGE Atlantic Sailfish (John & Robert said that the fish was trophy sized fish and estimated it was about 6ft long and about 80 lbs.) The people on the boat also caught a Bonita and a King Mackerel, but the best catch of the trip was my sailfish! We are planning to visit South Florida in the future and will definitely go fishing with the Fishing Headquarters crew again! We would reccomend them to anyone looking for a guide service. Not only were they knowledgeable about the deep sea fishing techniques, but they were very personable and friendly more

We decided to do the 7:30 - 11:30 p.m. time because we had never been fishing at night before. I planned to pay online, but called and was told to show up and pay there to save the internet transaction fee. The booth is easy to find, and the people working seemed friendly and low key. We bought our tickets, and boarded the boat, the 55' Mary B III. The boat pulled out as the sun was setting over Fort Lauderdale, and cruised past the beautiful homes and yachts along the intercoastal.\r We were told that the fishing had not been very good due to a storm that dropped the water temperature 20 degrees, but that they would work hard to find some fish. And we did!\r We fished at 3 different spots, and there were lots of fish caught, though not a lot of keepers. Lots of grunts, eels, and some small snappers. I caught a scorpionfish! more

Great day today with Capt. Paul and Ryan (still swear he's Jack Black researching a role!). Rockin' seas, but we caught our share of dolphin, blackfin, bonita and had a sailfish on the hook long enough to see her jump. Excellent captain, excellent mate and excellent company! Highly recommend them! more

Our 8 hour fishing trip set off at the same time as the 4 hour one. We had 4 people on board and had plenty of fishing action. There must have been 20 people on the other boat, so I would recommend the longer trip. The captain kept moving round to find the best fishing spots and we used kites, trolling and drift fishing to catch blue runner (jack), barracuda, grunt, king mackerel. It is a really enjoyable day and Fort Lauderdale looks much better from a boat than from the freeway. more

My grandson, 6, and I went on ""Catch My Drift"" and had a fantastic time. The crew was attentive, changed bait when needed, helped my little guy with some fishing tips and the boat was also very clean. We did catch fish, but even if we hadn't, it still would have been a good trip. The captain changed spots when the fish weren't biting until we found a spot that was just right. Definitely will go out with that crew next time I'm visiting my grandson. more

CATCH MY DRIFT !!! 5/8/2011

To all our new friends at fishing headquarters, we want to say THANKS for an AWSOME time!! We had so much fun the first day, we decided to go out again the very next day! The crew, especially TYLER,ROBERT,JOSH and STU, made it an experience we`ll never forget!!! The first time out I caught a cobia ( not shure thats spelled right ) it put up such a fight i didnt think i was gonna be able to reel it in by myself ,but with JOSH's steady hand and TYLER with the gaff cheering me on I was able to reel it in. The tape measure was only 46 inches, my fish was even longer weighing in over 35 pounds, I was told it was a catch of a lifetime. (Tasted great too) This was the BEST Mothers Day EVER !! Look these guys up, it will be worth every minute along with an oustanding experience you will never forget. So, once again THANKS and keep up the good work.\r \r more
