First Watch

We have all been to the restaurants where the host/hostess acts like they are doing us a favor by seating us....First Watch is a standout restaurant for its service and I have always been greeted when I walked in the door. They are more than polite, they are friendly, especially at the Kirkwood location. My family drives from Illinois to Kirkwood to eat at First Watch. Think of all the Denny's, IHOPS, McDs, etc...we pass on the way. Awesome coffee as well!!! Pros: service and food quality Cons: the wait can be long...because it is so great! more

It is close to my house so I've tried it several times hoping that I could find something good on the menu. Nothing is very good here. more

i am really disappointed with the st. louis area. folks go out so that they can eat something that tastes way better than the way they cook. but i think i can probably cook better. i don't know. maybe it's because i've eaten in other places. but restaurant owers in st. louis can't cook. I read the other reviews and people were right. On the weekend (we went Sunday morn at 9:00) there is a wait, but it was not all that long (15 min). I have waited longer for less quality many times at other places. There were no less than 20 people waiting when we arrived and yet we were seated in 15 minutes. They handled parties of 2, 7, 9 and more in amazing time and nobody felt ""rushed"". The atmosphere is so relaxed you don't mind the wait at all, not to mention the fact that coffee is available as soon as you walk in (no charge). They have a person on the floor watching everything. As soon as a table clears, he signals someone and that table becomes available. They are SO organized! And now, the Food! ""Best breakfast I have ever had outside of my home"" (ok, maybe a bit better than mine). My friend could not stop raving about how perfect her eggs were. We both had a full meal and I thought they made a mistake on the bill. It cost us less to eat here than it did at any of the other ""common' breakfast places ie: Denny's, Waffle House, Cracker Barrell, BobEvans, IHOP, etc. \r Everyone at this establishment is professional. That is why there is a brief wait.\r \r Good things come to those who wait.........Delicious! Pros: Wonderful food, wonderful people, great building, great prices. good coffee, and more. Great food that comes quicker than any restaurant I've ever been in. The food is wonderful and the portions are huge. Many times I order just one pancake because I can't even eat that. If you go on the weekends, especially Sundays, there will be a wait, but it is worth it. Pros: Food, price, and quick service Cons: Long waits to sit on weekends more

This has become a regular gathering place for co-workers after our meetings. It is usually very busy, but doesn't take long to get seated. Everything I have had there has been very good. But the best would have to be their breakfast potatoes. They are golden brown and cooked perfectly. I would also recommend their omolets. Pros: breakfast potatoes, omolets more

The service is terrific! I am in there all the time just to see all the smiling faces. I greatly appreciate the sincere service they bestow upon me. The food is also excellent and super fast; everything is out in under 10 minutes. I have never tried something new there that I didn't like. You can't lose if you choose to eat here! I was so disappointed when the Parkmoor closed; then I found First Watch. It's a bit of a drive, but it's great for my leisurely Saturday or Sunday breakfast. Wonderful service, good food, reasonable prices and omelets to die for. The menu is quite varied and I enjoy trying different items each time. I've never had a bad meal here. more

I was first introduced to first watch while going out with my co-workers and have been hooked ever since. The restaurant was clean, and very inviting. I like the idea that the whole restaurant was non-smoking. Every time I go, I'm surrounded by smiles. The food is very affordable and comes out quick and hot. I have trouble ordering because you really can't make a bad choice. I can eat First watch everyday, if I could get there early enough. My co-workers can tell you how many mornings I would call in an order and come to the office with my big steorophone box filled with food from First Watch.
