Best

We were extremely happy with the exterior paint job on our home. It was certainly a great value. I noticed a few points where the paint had chipped. I would have taken care of it ...

Worst

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/13/2013

Most of these reviews seem to be pretty accurate when they say HORRIBLE AND STAY FAR AWAY. This company is a total scam, they did not show up at times they were supposed, would start and never finish then after 1 week and showing up only 1 day to do horrible work they never came back again and never returned phone calls. I have drip marks on furniture and carpets, the idiot painted the trim the same color as our walls... who does that? They left trash in our rooms, but besides all of that.. it is the lack of communication from the owner that is really BS. This company is absolutely disgusting and I am currently in a dispute to get my money back for work that they did not do. They apparently refuse to refund it since I have called and emailed and of course, no one gets back to me so I had to go through our bank to get our money refunded. This is so not worth all the headache not to mention there are people out there who will actually show up and do work they are being paid to do, but don't expect that from this company! more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Paid in advance through Twongo, and now they don't show when scheduled, don't answer their phone. Finally reached on the phone and said they'd be out 3-4 hours late the day scheduld, never showed. Now not answering phone once again and into the next day. This is rediculous. Find someone else! more

DO NOT use these folks. We paid for their service through a Twongo deal. They took our payment without any problem. They didn't show up to paint even though they emailed a confirmation.\r \r Now they will not return our calls or emails to get us a refund. They are crooks! Consider yourself warned if you are ever foolish enough to use them. more

So Much for First Impressions . . .Stay Away 6/25/2010

Brad, the owner, is a great salesman. Too bad what he promised was no where near the real outcome. Professional on-site supervision is promised on every job - - that NEVER happened. When the ""crew"" did show up, (they were 2 hours late on the first day) no one could speak English and this made explaining what needed to be done pretty challenging. Brad said someone who was fluent in English would always be on the job - - not true. The work on my deck is 9 months old, the replaced boards are already warped and look worse then they did before they were replaced. The quality of the work was very poor. I would try and get my money back or repairs made; but, then I would have to deal with First Aid Painting again! - - and it's just not worth it. The owner of First Aid should go sell used cars, think it would be fitting. Cons: what is promised is NOT delivered, poor workmanship more

Keep Away 1/15/2010

Most of the reviews here seem positive. I wish mine were. After getting estimates for repair and painting, the work was contracted out. An repair involving a window turned out to be much easier to fix than was expected yet I still got charged for the higher amount even when they admitted the fact. We found some more damage to the wood around our house as they were painting and try to communicate the need to repair it - all they did was dab some more paint on. I had to hire someone to blast the concrete & brick around my house to remove dripped paint. I don't know what these other folks experience with Brad really were but I could not get him to speak to me directly once the contract was signed. Horrible experience. I am sorry for folks that they are still in business and don't know. Pros: None. Cons: No one on site spoke English, messy more

Great company that follows through 10/15/2009

We were extremely happy with the exterior paint job on our home. It was certainly a great value. I noticed a few points where the paint had chipped. I would have taken care of it myself except they were in hard to reach areas. I called First Aid and was told we were under warranty and that someone would be out to take care of it. I met with the painter and showed him what needed to be done. He was very detailed and completed the job to our satisfaction. You can tell quite a bit about a business when they are approached with a warranty issue. Let's face it-once the check is cashed on the initial work you may get a poor response. Not at First Aid! They did a great job and stood behind their work. Great work at a fair price. Pros: Great communication and service more

To all who want great service at a fair price 10/15/2009

To all who want great service at a fair price:\r \r We have used First Aid Painting on three occasions in the past 6 years.\r \r The first was to paint the exterior of our home. The crew was very respectful and would not leave until we inspected everything and gave our approval.\r \r Secondly, they painted 70% of the interior of our house...great room, two story foyer, vaulted ceilings, etc. and did an excellent job. The first day there were four people doing all of the drywall and spackling. The next two days there were five people painting. We were happy to get 14 days worth of work done for only 3 days of inconvienience.\r \r Finally, we had some flood damage from our upstairs water heater. Once the restoration company dried us out, we requested first aid Painting to come to the rescue. They patched and painted the 10x10 hole in our ceiling in record time. \r \r We will keep referring Brad and his company. They really do great work, arrive on time and ask for the customers total satisfaction before leaving the job.\r \r The Bevenours\r Pros: Excellent service; great follow through more

Excelent Experience 6/24/2009

I recently had the entire exterior of my house painted by First Aid Painting. After receiving no less than 15 quotes from painters throughout Raleigh I decided to have First Aid do the job. The experience was terrific from start to finish. From the beginning Brad, the owner, came to my house personally and gave me a very detailed quote for the scope of work I was asking him to do. He also supplied letters from happy customers. Throughout the job communication was great. \r \r The quote clearly explained the entire process of the job, and what exactly would be done. The price provided was extremely good considering the scope of work (Painting existing white trim and changing the color of the house all with top shelf Sherwin Williams Duration paint).\r \r I couldn’t be happier with the painting. I have recommended First Aid Painting to everyone that I can think of, and have even recently got another quote from First Aid to paint my 25’ ceilings on the interior of my house. I look forward to working with Brad and First Aid in the future.\r Pros: Terrific Service, Materials, and Workmanship more

Absolutely Horrendous Service 7/17/2008

I cannot in good conscience recommend this company. I contracted with them to paint my house, and it was a total nightmare from start to finish. For starters, the owner told us that he personally supervised the work. We specifically asked this when he came to give an estimate because we are paying not only for the paint but for a well-manged project. However this was NOT the case. The only time I saw him after the estimate was for 10 minutes on the day the painters arrived, and he probably only made an appearance then because we had threatened to fire him!\r \r It went downhill from there. No one showed up when they were supposed to show up. We had reschedule after reschedule, and always for a variety of reasons, the only one with any merit being weather. Secondly, the job wasn't done according to specification. The pressure washers were supposed to use their own water, but they tapped my outside faucets and depleted my well. Finally, the owner/""supervisor"" seemed oblivious about everything. He would call and say he couldn't paint due to weather, but the fact was that he couldn't paint due to the pressure washing not being completed. He didn't know that until we told him, and his call came BEFORE the pressure washing had been completed. The nail in the coffin was that I asked to see the paint on the day they finally showed up, and he informed me that he was using a different type of paint but didn't have it with him. It still had to be purchased. So, add in last-minute paint substitutions without client consent, and you get one horrible experience.\r \r The estimate looked good, as did the letters from previous happy customers in the portfolio he presented. This proves that you can't always trust those things because people aren't going to give you references from unhappy clients. Don't be fooled by this. Avoid this company unless you want to pay a lot of money to supervise painting and pressure washing crews yourself. Pros: None come to mind Cons: Bad service, bad organization, bad everything more
